I have a few badly unsecured wireless networks in my neighborhood (here's to the people in my neighborhood ;P ).  Problem is, the signal is pretty weak.  Anyone know a reliable product for boosting signal strength on my end?  Is this really more than a pipedream?

Hmmm, gonna need to buy an external NIC if I wanna do this since I'm on a laptop.  Someone need to invent a USB version Tongue

no idea, and I'm assuming you'll probably want them outdoors so weatherproofing would probably be necessary. I don't know much about them, was just saying it sounds like that's what you would want to do.

You actually answered your own question in your subject. You can use a wifi amplifier.

Mind you, they do cost around $260, and may violate FCC regulations.
