Sega finally smartens up and is finally creating a 2D Sonic game.

GS: What can you tell us about the game?

KB: I can tell you it’s a brand new 2D adventure coming out in 2010, it’s in HD, and to definitely stay tuned.

GS: With HD makeovers of classic games being popular right now, can we expect the game to use chunky old school sprites or hi-res HD sprites?

KB: You can definitely expect HD graphics.

Whats the joke about the circle of disappointment with sonic? ;P  Something like 1. New Sonic media appears - sonic is alone 2. Fans get hope up 3. More media surfaces, laden with friends 4. Fans hopes dashed 5. Game sucks.  6. Repeat.

Took em long enough to get the hint. I'm still gunna stick with my idea though that if they were to make a 2.5 remake of Sonic 3 & Knuckles and put it on XBLA, PSN, and Steam, they'd have more money than they'd know what to do with.

There are two chances for this game..


1) a 1,2 or 3/K HD remake, which i'm not excited about since i have the 3 games and it will be basically the same except with sparkly graphics, and i'm kinda sick of remakes..

2) an entirely new 2D Sonic game with HD graphics, which could be nice, except by the fact that the level design will be god awful just like all "2D" Sonic levels have been made since the last Sonic Advance. Seriously, go play Sonic Rush, the only thing you must do is press froward and do some tricks sometimes while Sonic pierces your ears with his "YEAHWOWWEEWOWYEAH"

Sooo...not excited at all, i gave my last "oh shit i used to play this game when little and now on HD OMG MUST BUY" To Turtles in Time and god it sucked :<.
