I would rather beat the first one before so i don't miss story. I didn't play the first one and had a pretty good idea what was going on. Go look up a quick synopsis on FEAR 1 and you won't really miss anything. There's this girl with telepathic abilities who was locked in a room underground most her life, she's dead-ish but still alive in spirit form and still pissed. There's some replica soldiers who are commanded through telepathic commands who apparently hate you too. Then there's this company Armacham who also hate you. The only people who don't hate you are your squad mates from the F.E.A.R. team or something. Sorta the basics without giving away any spoilers you might not wanna hear. There is nothing scary about FEAR. And there is nothing in the plot worth paying attention to either. Decent shootery acshun games though (especially compared to most of the consolerific rubbish these days).

The Spirit Engine 2 is on sale, which I thought would be too obscure to ever go on sale. Kinda interested in it for that price, I played the demo and it seemed like a really unique take on oldschool console RPGs, with you literally moving along a linear world and the semi-automated combat system. It seemed really well designed and had nice graphics and music though. Might pick it up for that price.

You have until next Monday to pay however much you want for World of Goo.
Get it for a penny if you're a cheap-ass (which is probably what I would do if I didn't already have it), but it's worth at least five bucks. |
