I'm on ethernet now, and I'm regularly getting disconnections. I've narrowed it down to two things:

A. Our provider

B. Our Cable Modem

We've been getting shit like this for a fucking YEAR, whenever the tech support guys would come it'd work fine so they wouldn't help. We finally got them to understand our problem a couple weeks ago, a guy came out and replaced our modem, and it didn't solve anything. So we're finally sick of this shit, and we started a trial with the DSL providers here. We got their modem yesterday, and we can't get a connection from any of the phone lines in the house.

Not quite disconnections, but didn't feel like starting a new topic. Anyways, I've been having some really terrible lag the last few days, wondering if anyone might have some suggestions on how to fix it.

I can connect to a different router with a stronger connection, but the noise is even worse:



The lag is so bad half the time I try to upgrade a dispenser the hits don't even register. Any suggestions on things I can do to improve networking (unfortunately playing on wired is not an option, it's even worse if you can believe it)

Ok, so I'm pretty sure it's our modem. I'm pretty sure we got it when we first had Cox install our internet, but that was 9 or 10 years ago, so it's reasonable that it's gotten out of date. Trying to convince my dad to buy a new one.

most cable companies rent cable modems to you, and i believe are included in the cost of service even if you don't use their equipment.

This has been happening to me, the modem will stop receiving signals from anywhere between a second to hours.  It's beyond frustrating.  Comcast can suck it.
