Buying a PS3 Today

games ran terribly on PCSX2 even on my desktop, maybe that will change once I get a new desktop with an i7 :-X

I can run FFXII with 8x AA and antisotropic filtering and it looks absolutely beautiful with my  piece of shit pc. checking the compatibility list helps too, you know. you have to actually see what version of the emulator it's playable with. it also depends on the plugins you have too. with a little bit of research games run beautifully.

I agree on that. However they have some games I want to play. I definitely agree Sony is a shit ass company, but you look around the gaming space and tell me what console manufacturer these days ISN'T talking crap and kissing their own ass. Sure I could stick to PC but I've always been a console gamer at heart and there are games on consoles I can't get on PC. Sometimes you just have to grudge threw the mud to get to the golden monkey.

Because it upscales, has a ton more features, you can hot swap the HDD out if you need more space, and your PS2 will break (murphy's law)

I will NEVER EVER switch out my ONE HUNDRED TWENTY gig harddrive. That is far to much space for me already tbh. I haven't even used the 20 gigs MS gave me.

If my PS2 breaks I had a total of four games for it. I'll be sad but I'll write my losses off and keep on going.

Nope, I have an i7 and two 4870's and they still ran like shit.  People that say PCSX2 works only played the few games it's actually been tweaked to work with.  That's why I got a backcompat PS3 instead.

I think the Persona's work OK on emulators.  If you're stat hacking Persona though, then what exactly do you have left to do?

The Answer is understandable, but your playing on Easy mode in 4 >.<

there's still way, way more grinding that feels like grinding in P4, mostly because Tartarus in P3 made it feel like there was very little grinding.

I just can't find myself interested in the Uncharted games.

Also I bought VC Friday, it should be here Tuesday. next up: Demons Souls.

As a movie maybe, but in a game explosions are awesome. Being in a collapsing building and having to jump through a window in the building adjacent before you get buried in rubble is awesome. Sliding down a collapsing bridge while shooting a yeti off a hot chick is awesome. Running through a train car as it slides off a cliff is awesome. Also the writing and dialog is pretty great, you don't know how many times it got a chuckle out of me. And my wife seriously watched it beginning to end and loved it.
