One thing I've heard praised about the game is that it is not, in-fact, retardly easy. As a matter of fact, Kotaku said in their review that it felt like an old-school mario game to the bone.

They are calling this Super Mario Bros. 4.

This is why I was immediately interested.

My sister is getting a Wii for Christmas, so we are still deciding on what to get her and along with Wii Fit and Band Hero, this might be the one actual game to get her.  An old school feeling game like this might be just what Mario needs, since I thought Super Mario Galaxy was boring and easy.

I wanna learn to pull off stuff like that. I find it kinda funny actually, a week or so ago I wouldn't have told people I wanted this, or really gave much thought about it. Now, reading reviews and stuff, I actually wanna play it. It sounds like a really nice way to bring back 2-d platforming, also if it's as hard as it sounds... awesome.

k beat world 1.

its AWESOME.

by no means easy to do without dying, but it has the smw syndrome in giving you 5 million 1ups.  Lot of parts taken from all the games...

smb1 - level layout
smb3 - the world/map layout
- lots of houses to get items (match cards is only game so far)
- mini battles like with the hammer bro randomly walking around (except its a goomba so far)
smw - castles/ and 1/2 way castles are quite similar to smw
- bosses are the brothers - i think lenny first roy is next i saw
- Each stage has 3 large gold coins to collect - it shows in order which you have gotten - these are not always easy to get - not sure what you get if you have all from all levels in a world maybe like the 100% in yoshi's island you get a special game house?
smw2(yoshi's island) - yoshi - I put this here because he acts much more like yoshi from this than smw.  (the little leg flutter that get you a little higher) also... so far I cant find a way to jump off him aka homicide down a hole so you live.  different color yoshis don't do anything special with shells.
sm64 - triple jump

As my last point shows.. theres no "a" jump or the spinning jump... this is replaced with a ground pound, but it's not close to as functional I think... and I miss it for situations like a spinning boss shell - in smw you could a jump on it and stay alive...

The Ice block suit is like fire but you turn them into a block of ice... not sure I like this yet - I can see how it will play out (form a block so you can jump to a higher place) but they can get in the way - especially on moving objects.

flight suit - not close to as friendly as cape, but better than the coon tail because it's an instant shot into the air (then glide)

over all - i love it... it really is like they too smb3 and added new suits and few things from smw1/2...

I cant say how multiplayer is, but obviously by the look of that movie... it can be pretty impressive - 2 vs modes as well coin grab and Free for all which seems like its not really vs at all... maybe more a sonic 2 race to the finish type thing..? idk

tough to not say... go get it.. it's worth the cash

haha I went back and got all "star coins" (big ones mentioned above).  A popup window appears saying "You got all star coins for world 1!!!" and thats all... weak
but i did find what they do - you buy "hint movies" for 3-5 of them.  Seems like it shows you little secrets about world 1 including "infinite lives in 1-2" and "super skills in 1-3" super skills is basically a pro run... kinda neat actually (and it shows how to get star coins if you couldn't figure it out)

edit 2 i just fell down a hole and shook the wiimote and hopped off yoshi to live... so... thats there
uhhh i think im retarded and the shake jump IS the a jump... problem solved - game owns...

naw it seems like they are just to open the movies... they actually are pretty neat tho. some show the secret exit which - first I tried took a few tires and opened a pipe from like 2-3 to 2-castle.  The others are pro runs wich are pretty enjoyable bc they FLY through triple jumping everywhere

Oh god this game is fantastic. Multiplayer is spot on, it adds a bonus of being able to bounce of each other but also makes it a lot harder.
