P.s.: My computer is better then Spores and a lot cheaper too  8) He has a lot of stuff I'm not worried about nevermind.

P.S.s: My old computer (the one BRbu helped me to build) will either be used as a server/host in some way shape or form for BRBu if you guys can help me set it up, or become a birthday present for my sister. I want you guys to tell me what I should do with it, since like, almost half of it is you guys parts anyway.

Detail: I remember Caff at one point calling my current PC a frankenstein (which is true). So this time I tried to stick as much to one brand as possible (Gigabyte). If anyone has any comments on that or experience with them I would also be glad to hear it .

I also tried to go for a less flashy set up this time with my computer opening having significantly less window then my current one on the case. I still have some form of window so I can check to make sure it's not setting fire ( I would like to know if that's happened BEFORE I smell it.). I might be a little over paranoid about this since my first PSU set fire.

I wouldn't worry about parts being different brands as long as you like and trust all of them  ;D

Yea I did ASUS, GSkill, AMD, NVidia, & OCZ because I trusted all of them and they were on sale.

The CPU, graphics card and MB are all already bought. I just put them on the wish list to show people. The other stuff has to be bought later when I get some more monies.

Edit: Realized you were talking about the memory with DDR3 and eh. I don't know i'll consider it but getting money for me is a slow grind.

If your MB can support it get DDR3, I seriously paid exactly what you did for much faster RAM.

Yeah that computer is 2 years old basically, but not really that cheap for the price... now that I think about it, that IS basically the same specs as my 2 year old computer... which I believe cost me around that much 2 years ago.  And there is no fucking way you need a 720W PSU for that thing.  Could have gotten a much better processor for not a lot more either too.  I don't recommend putting everything on a single 1TB HDD either, especially a Hitachi.

Eh not sure where you found the stuff for that price two years ago but ya I was already pretty sure it was a two year old computer, but I don't really mind that since my current computer is most likely lots older then 2 years, has a 60gb harddrive, and a fried mother board.

I'm not sure what you meant about the HDD. You said "everything' but i'm not really sure what "everything' is.

Oh and the power supply is pretty much just to be sure. My current one is 380w so I wanted to get something I hopefully won't have to replace when I switch the parts out and they take up more wattage then my current set.

If you have one hard drive, then everything on your computer is going to be on that hard drive.  So if that one hard drive fucks up somehow, all your shit is screwed.  You have more recovery options when you have an extra hard drive, to try and recover/backup things if something goes wrong.

That's actually really good advice (both of you). And I may very well do that if when I've collected enough money to buy the rest of the parts, I may spring for the extra hard drive and upgraded RAM (par Surfs suggestion). I unfortunately  can't do anything about the processor at this point since it's already sitting in my room, so I'd have to either send it back (to much work) or discard it completely (waste of money).

What does RAID 1 do? From how you described it I'm assuming it takes the data from your main HDD and back's it up on a secondary internal HDD. Which would be fucking brilliant.

Raid 1 is mirroring, and you basically described what it does, it wont save you from software failure, but it will save you from hardware failure

That's awesome, but do both HDD's run at the same rate? I mean if one wares out over time because I've used it a lot, wouldn't the other one ware out around the same time frame as well?
