The books are based on the more technical and theory based elements of improvisation. Things like Modal Interchanges when soloing using chord tones. While I agree that practicing and playing with other people is the best thing to do for improvisation, I still think it's worth my time to learn some more theory to open up some possibilities I might have not thought of before. I picked up a MI book which is usually a hit and miss with some people but I like them. Good to know I'm not the only music nut here |

Good to know I'm not the only music nut here [/quote] smart. modes are extremely essential to the art of soloing.(ex. mixo,dorian for jazz) theory helps to understand what goes where, but your ear is just as good at doing that as anything else. yea, I'm a music education major. it's why I don't play on the servers often during the year..I'm too busying practicing and performing. My drum set sucks though, think it was damaged after refurbishing. |

I just picked up ass creed and saboteur on sale with my christmas/hanukkah money. Also I got beef jerky in my stocking which is my one redneck enjoyment. There's just something about meat thats like chewing leather.
