Does anybody really like Mos Def? I just am a huge fan of his work. I have really enjoyed him in films, not just music as well. He plays really deep, thoughtful roles. Remember him in Highjackerâs Guide? Solid performance.
As for his music, I am just a HUGE sucker for the classic samples and beats he uses. I fully subscribe to the school of J Dilla and Mad Lib when it comes to beat making; classic samples from old vinyls. No auto-tone here. I really like his cadence too; it isnât one-liner based, but it sounds like he is really having fun on the track. Mos Def - Auditorium (Feat. Slick Rick) Anyway, I really recommend his music. |

I like him but in some of his older albums more. Black on Both Sides I think is his absolute best album.

Anyone ever listen to Sean Lennon? He does a lot of... it's hard to describe. It's like light rock with keyboard and synthesizers. I like him a lot, so I'll post 2 or 3 songs of his I like. The videos are from the DVD that came with the Friendly Fire album, so they won't make much sense (he tried to go and make a sort of experimental film thing with his album, there's a back story to the album I'll tell people about that sorta became his way of coping with a bad event). But without further ado... enjoy:

Good beat too. |

I believe in a Thing Called Love The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love Awesome song though. Not a fan of the next 2 but still weird videos. Electric Six - "Gay Bar" (Hi Res) WTF ABRAHAM LINCOLN. That is all. Samwell - "What What (In the Butt)" |

God I love the song Darkangel, VNV nation owns. I know that song almost by heart, everytime I hear it I can't help but sing the lyrics all dramatic and britishy
Though some of their songs are pretty bad. Like Structure and Airships (Airships isn't bad it's just.. ehhh..) Can't say I'm a fan of chrome either. Tragic Hero is great stuff though: VNV Nation - Tragic Hero

Well airships isn't bad, it's just compared to the other songs I have on my little VNV nation mix CD I always end up just skipping past it in favor of listening to something like Electronaut or Honour
