The whole point of idling is leaving IRC as a background process when your PC is on 

Id be on 24/7 if I still left my PC on all the time, but the LEDs are really bright and I can't sleep with em on  :-\

[/quote]Well, my laptop gets moved around, so it's impossible for me to be on 24/7... unless I idle on my desktop which no longer has a monitor.

I used to just prop up a book in front of mine, although currently my mouse and keyboard are the big offenders. It's a nonissue though since I sleep in the other bedroom ^_^

My first mouse was intense. A Logitech Mouseman+ Wheel Optical.



The light on the back was savage. I started by cutting out the form-fitting packaging and painting it black. This black-out shield only lasted so long before I wore though the paint from taking it off and on again each night.
I then just stuffed it into my desk drawer when not in use.

As case modding and lan parties caught on, I swapped the led out for a red. Not only making the mouse look distinct, it also was much easier to sleep in the same room with.

Ditto goes for my alarm clock. Red-led modded.
