Both entries are presented as non-functioning image files, but I have the spliced up parts for #1, but not #2 (as of this posting)

I like number one better, but perhaps we could add images to the posts sort of like how kotaku does it.

The sad thing is I know who made #1, easily. *cough*
#1 could use some small lines in between the different topics. The thing I like about the first one is the events shown right on the front page, but I'd like a calendar type thing in the end.
Good job for both contestants though, they are very good in its own ways.

I'd prefer an graphical identity that isn't so obviously tied to a major game (viz., half-life).

I voted entry 1, even though I'm not a huge fan of super orange either.  It's more aesthetically pleasing overall though.

I do think some kind of "uninstalling"/rage-quit graphic would be cool to have, to give the whole "brb uninstalling" title more context.

I'm not the biggest fan of traffic-cone orange. Maybe a more subdued and unsaturated orange would be best.

I prefer the overall aesthetic and simplicity of #2.  Perhaps some readjustment with the additon of something similar to #1's Events and Latest sidebar would make it more helpful as the front page.

I like the layout of 1, but the simplicity of 2. I'm not a fan of #2's link bar though. Is orange our official color or something? Do I need to get orangered?

I like how both designs use orange.

Well, according to my color theory book, the color does a pretty good job at describing us.

Orange is a mixture of red and yellow, borrowing characteristics from both colors. It has the energy and vitality of red and the happy, friendly qualities of yellow. That makes orange an audacious, energizing color suggesting fun and spontaneity.

... Come to think of it, both menu bars use a pixely font too.
