I think I like smaller servers at times.  #2 delivers.  Sometimes I'd rather play with some people I know and who are good and challenging and not a big clusterfuck were I have to keep track of an unusually large amount of rockets, stickies and spies.

You don't usually have to worry about stickies, rockets or spies on server 1 either considering everybody is pyro.

I just mean there is a greater chance of being ganked in the back by someone who was either: spamming, not aiming for you, or takes great desire in targeting those that are in great battle with a formidable opponent.

The mods (including myself) were told time and time again to not let things get bad, to be a hard-ass on things like this and not be afraid to drop hammers.  Have we totally failed #1 on this?  Is it a lost cause?  Is the "average / mean" player on #1 leaning towards obnoxious?  When a mod is the only one on a server who'd like to play serious TF2 but *everyone* else wants to fiddlefart around and have extended conversations on the mic... do we reset the server to kick everyone off and see who comes back for serious play?  Note that this is a hypothetical situation and not one made to resemble any identifiable incident, recent or otherwise.

Seriously, I can't stand it at all. Every time one or two guys start raging, everyone else joins in. At this point, I leave the server.

I've had to deal with this a lot lately and I can't say it's fun.

I cannot remember the last time I hit that point of connection and haven't heard any voices.


Every time I connect it's just constant voices. Friendly banter is fine and all, but it just wears on you after a while. Sometimes I just mute everyone and play music instead.

To me, it honestly sounds like a lot of personal preferences that people feel should be accommodated into their play experience but that, like anything else, will not please all of the people all of the time.

I think it would be best to write up a big mission statement about what exactly you want on your servers, what is and isn't tolerated ABOVE the general guidelines already posted; make it clear what you, as admins of your servers, actually want.

From there, if people don't like it you can exercise your admin abilities because users have been warned. You can avoid all this endless rabbling about what is and isn't acceptable and actually DO something about it, actually take steps to remedy situations as they come up.

Otherwise, we're all fumbling around in a darkened warehouse full of explosive barrels, just waiting for someone to light one up in the hopes of seeing better.

The servers seem to be constantly 2 ends of a spectrum so I mean there you go?  Ill play the one I feel the most in the mood for.  The crazy one or the cereal one.  I think its fine as long as you don't go into the wrong one and be all like oh my gosh you guys why are you acting like you have been known to and not the way I would like at this moment.

#2 has Best In Class. Why does #2 have all the interesting maps anyway? I think it is time to shake up the rotations on both servers.
