Spoonsoon, did you read this book yet? The protagonist is a second-rate norman-rockwell-knockoff whore who imagines that he is Velazquez. It name drops fancypants artists like every other page, you'd probably dig it.

Goddamn. Was poking around and came across this. Probably old news for a lot of people, but I had never come across it since it would have happened when I was six. Wayne Greavette receives a package containing a flashlight and letter in the mail. His son is messing with the flashlight but can't get it to turn on so he gives it back to his father and he starts messing with it. The flashlight explodes, killing the guy and wounding his son. They never solved the murder. Eeriest thing though is the letter that came with it.
