It's fun goin back through this thread when everyone thought it was gunna be good. Like I said, the only reason I have it is because someone steam gifted it to me. The single player campaign was fun at first, just because of the whole shock appeal, but afterwards looking back, it's clear cod4's sp > mw2's. I haven't touched it since a couple days after I beat the campaign.

Richard Morgen pretty much wraps up my thoughts.

It was a massive stepdown from CoD4. What I thought when I played it was, 'Jesus guys, what have you been doing? You've not ramped anything up. The story is worse and the game doesn't really hang together, it's just a bunch of mission levels.
With Uncharted 2, those guys went back and looked at the first game ... everything that didn't work very well, they fixed or ramped up or did something with. You can honestly say to people if you played the first game, the second one is the same but better. Modern Warfare 2 is the same but ... way worse.

On that note, waiting for Crysis 2.

Some true stuff there.  I enjoyed the singleplayer campaign for the most part, but I hit areas, where it's "What the fuck is going on and why are we doing this?" that bugged me.  Nothing like CoD4 which had some serious moments.  It tried to basically copy that feel without making it a cohesive experience, especially with it being one of the shortest shooters I've ever played.  I'd include Halo: ODST, but thats not supposed to be a main game like MW2 was.

Now lets see if this guy can back up his own jabs by bringing an interesting experience to Crysis 2.

As for the upcoming games...I want to see how Treyarch will improve on the system with their game.  World at War didn't have a great singleplayer, but it's about the multiplayer anyways and they added some interesting detail to the game.

Were the maps any good?  I know of Overgrown which was alright, Crash was alright, and I forget what the other one was from CoD4.  Then there were 2 other maps.  That price is ridiculous though for just 5 maps
