I've never felt comfortable with the idea of playing D&D (or any pen and paper) with strangers. Dunno... Just gives me a bad impression. That being said, I might be moving to Montreal in 4 months, and I might have to try the same thing you've been attempting, Luin. Not sure what I value more - Playing D&D, or avoiding awkward social situations. Nooooooot looking forward to that. |

If they're asking you questions about "experience" they'd be too serious for me at least, I've been GMing a zombie pen & paper for a few sessions now and mine always involve beer and healthy amount of inside jokes for all of us to just simply have fun with. We also hand out random cards each session, here's a few examples
Good Cards: "Bitch grab the shotgun" - You now have a shotgun, roll a D3 to determine ammo type (Birdshot/Shot/Slugs), it has one clip "You don't need to load it, we did that shit for you!" - The next weapon that uses ammo you find comes fully loaded with some to spare OR you get one instant free reload of any weapon Bad Cards: "That's Joke gum, now you're addicted to heroin" - Roll a D6, for the remainder of this session you are addicted to it, should you be unable to get a fix it will persist multiple sessions until you get a fix, if you already have the addiction you roll, roll again - 1 - Pot, 2 - Alcohol, 3 - Cigarettes, 4 - Cocaine, 5 - Heroin, 6 - Meth "Maybe the helicopter is made of Chocolate" - Minus two to all physical or endurance related checks, fatty  Sig by Joel |

No, nothing like those ... horrible suggestions.
They wanted to know what campaigns I've played under what systems, which I honestly didn't know. When I played it's always been "lol let's play D&D!" and the DM took care of the rest for us. I mean I could make my character sheet and stuff but I would still need help. They asked what my highest level character has been, and that was also disappointing. They wanted to start at low level paragons and I've only ever started with basic characters and probably never actually completed a campaign. He claims most of them are in their 30's which is fine with me, and the social awkwardness is always something I can walk away from if it amounts to too much. I kind of doubt it will, but eh. Hell, here's the quote (his personal info taken out, he felt the need to introduce himself a little) Quote:-How much 4e dnd have you played? |

[me=Surf314]used logic on boss, it was super effective[/me]
Successfully argued my way into the money I'm owed for my share of the retainer for this huge project I'm working on. Didn't have to quit and figure out a way to magic some money into existence. |

having to argue to get what you're already owed and entitled to is pretty FML. I'd slowly roast your boss over an open fire pit.Â

Today I heard a story about a 17 year old who is trying to make his mom's (my coworker) life as miserable as possible....In the course of one week he has managed to destroy a windshield, admit to chewing tobacco, pierce his own ear with a pen, say some pretty hurtful things and respond to every question with "because I can."
All in all it made me appreciate moms more in general, which is important considering mother's day is coming up. It also made me want to shake this kid since I've met him enough times to know that he could be good if he wanted to. grr EDIT: I NOW FINALLY HAVE FIREFOX ON MY WORK COMPUTER---BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!! DIE IE I do nothing upon myself, and yet I am my own executioner.
