Let's Get Some Content Here

So, months ago we got this swell front page thing, but since then we never really bothered to use it. I think it's high time we get a bit more serious about BRBU getting some stuff written up there. There is plenty that can be done such as updates on BRBU user made maps, news about the servers, game news/reviews, community events, contests, and much more. All of this can improve the BRBU community greatly if some of us decided to take a bit of initiative to populate the front page with content occasionally. I think most members here will agree on many of these points, so let's see about making this happen and give people a reason to not skip straight to the forums after getting to the barren front page. Alright, throw some ideas on how the website can be improved, volunteer to add some content, and work together on making our community be better than it ever has been.

the best of the best of a class should make a guide for TF2

ex.
Loq - Spy
Liquid - Sniper
Eightball - Demo
etc. etc.
and then i can bitch about not doing the soldier guide we can battle it out for those who think is the better of one class

Good suggestions. Also, a Pod/Brocast is a good idea. You kids need to think about what would be good to talk about. Quick headlines on what's going on in gaming, impressions on some new game, fleshlight hour, TF2 map impressions/hints... That kind of stuff. What we really need now though is a system. I wrote a Just Cause 2 review a bit ago, and there is no easy way to get it up on the front page and have it displayed there. The folks who have control over that ought to start thinking about it again if there is enough interest here to warrant it.

I support this but hek built the way the front page works from scratch, and to make it good for regular content there is a lot more work hek would need to put into it for free. So if you want this you should all tell hek how awesome he is and make sure he has the time. If he does then we can figure out a way to refine the system to handle content better (jumps, support for bb or HTML code, promotion tools, etc).

I support this but hek built the way the front page works from scratch, and to make it good for regular content there is a lot more work hek would need to put into it for free. So if you want this you should all tell hek how awesome he is and make sure he has the time. Yea, we need to make a few revisions, but at least, when I put out a thread months ago, the only one who submitted anything other than a class guide or BFBC2 guide was Spore <3

We should probably record demos when we play, that way in case we catch some asshattery on film we could send it to someone here who can do a quick encode and edit it down.

I am using the forums for 'content management' cause I didn't want to create a new authentication system.
There is full support for BBCode, and since I had to write my own BBCode processor, I can add additional tags if needed.

Cool, I remember having a hard time with pictures at one point. Is there any way we can create jumps to full content with the full content being in backfire's template? I think with that we could easily use the current system to handle content.
