You need to man up and pick a side and push through with your choice one way or the other. But before you do you need to realize you can still lose her completely either way, once you are cool with this you need to figure out a way you can approach the issue and be confident and not at all needy. My suggestion is sort yourself out for a day first, or whatever time it takes to sort out your feelings. Do not be wishy washy about this.

Don't overthink it. Hang out with some friends, play some video games, if you drink have a beer, and go for a run to clear your head.

And most of all, when you talk to her, be honest and straightforward. There is no need to gush with any feeling.

I did, I thought about it, realized dating would never work out, and just talked.

I was wrong btw, she wasn't put off, just surprised.  She didn't want to talk to me after though because she didn't want to make me feel awkward, oops.

Resolved fine though, we're both glad nothing will change.

Korjax, my advice to you is to get yourself right, get your self-confidence back, pick up a new hobby that you enjoy (rock climbing, yoga, running, tennis, etc.) and then when you think you can handle it ask him to join you doing whatever you picked. Then he gets to see you in a new way and you can reconnect as friends. Or it will be awkward and you will know it won't work out.

But I'm probably terribly unqualified for this kind of advice.

[/quote]Because they're either social outcasts (the ugly ones), disillusioned with popular culture (the hot ones), or just like the attention (both). Also, plain chicks dressed up as furries look ugly, even if they wouldn't be unattractive in normal clothes.
