Lies! Lies and slander!

Quote:About Mac:

Sound does not work on Mac at all. I have no idea why, and I will probably have to write my own software sound engine.
But, the game itself (with sound turned off) should run much better now with the download version. At least it does for me. The applet version had two really really severe issues on mac; it didn’t get enough ram allocated, and it didn’t properly release resources, which kind of fed into the original problem.

new update

rubies at bottom of the map
mining a ruby gives you several ruby dust
new activators (Lever, pressure plate, button)
putting an activator next to a door links them, and lets you use the activator rather than the door
Iron doors that can only be opened with an activator
ruby dust acts as a wire of sorts, putting it on the ground and leading it from an activator to a door essentially extends an activators range
ruby torches that dont do anything

recipes

stick over cobblestone - lever
2 smelted rock over eachother - button
3 planks in a row - pressure plate
iron door - 6 iron bars in a door shape
torch but ruby dust instead of coal - ruby torch

edit- tnt can be activated like a door

making simple circuits, might post results later

sadly theres not very much you can do with the rubies, liquids dont go thru doors so flood traps are out of the question

We need boolean operations. and/or chips and stuff. Make us some passworded doors.

Managed to make myself a nice key system.

Right under the torch is some wiring that goes to the door. Since the torch can activate wires through a block the same way levers can, by placing a torch there, the door will open up.

I loaded my game up yesterday, and about 6 pigs immediately spawned around me, and then all started making the "hurt" noise, then all died.  Delicious meat everywhere!

i dont know what that means, but the creative server that we had was pretty good, everything uploaded nicely it just kinda depended on your own computer for loading it up on the screen

Yeah, I have no idea when it comes to upload speed. All I know is that a 512x512x256 map would load in about 5-20 seconds depending on your computer.

My map's at about 78 MB right now, and that's after taking several trips around just exploring. This is more space than we'd ever need or even should need for that matter. Also, notch said he's thinking of limiting the sizes SMP maps. I wouldn't think they'd be nearly as limited as Classic MP, but it'd probably be a good thing to prevent people from just wondering off for hours doing nothing but increasing the size of the map. I'd think that a map about 4096x4096x512 would be more than we'd ever need. For comparison, BRBu City was 512x512x256
