Sorry to hear about your grandfather, Turtle.

I did not meet any of mine, they were dead before my time. I only have known one grandmother, but we didn't share a language and so... I really knew nothing about any of them. I have a large extended family but can only tell you the names of a very small handful of them. I'm quite detached.

What type? Because some of them actually have a comparatively high survival rate. I dated a girl for a long time who had ALL when she was little, had been cancer-free for 13 years when we started dating. Was still friends with some of the other kids from her treatment group, too.

I'm up at 3am to leave.

Trying to sleep.

It is Saturday night before the fourth of july.  There are so many explosions going off around my place it reminds me of OCS.

I'm not sure

My mom said it's not a bad prognosis, but still he has to go through chemo and everything.

Young people tend to be extremely resilient, so if the prognosis isn't bad, she'll pull through just fine.

But chemo is a miserable ordeal.

Ok so sometime back I did something hugely personal.  I told my crush of over two years how I actually felt, can't recall if I posted the whole story here but she responded well and wanted to hang out more, despite being in a relationship.  She knew my intention was to clear the air and not cause drama for her or her man.

Fast forward two months.  I havn't been able to contact her for three weeks, she ignores my messages.  I get worried, and drop a message on her wall on facebook, asking how she is and why I can't get in contact with her.  Fast forward a few days again, and I get this not more than a few hours ago:

'Hey bud,
I think you should lay off a bit.
Steph has a boyfriend '

Oh he's just jealous, I'm sure he doesn't know I just want to hang out, so I go:

'Yeah I know I'm not an idiot, I was just concerned. No need to be so confrontational. '

'Why so concerned? You have no reason to be concerned '

Oh fucking hell, I think being good friends with her and not having her talk to me for three weeks is enough cause for concern.  For all I know she's dead you asshole.  Sadly I didn't say that, I said:

'I have no reason to be concerned for my friends well being? '

'No, you dont. '

Oh what the fuck, piss off douchebag I just want to know if she's alright.  By this time I'm pretty pissed off, so seeking a way out before I say something I'll regret I end the conversation:

'Honestly I don't know what to say. If it means that much to you then I won't pursue it. '

Thinking back either her douche-jealous boyfriend is keeping her from talking to me, or she doesn't want to see me.  I don't like either of these because I really value our friendship and one of the reasons I came clean with her on my feelings was to be open and honest.  In any case, instead of hanging out with one of my few close female friends, I get to never see her again!  Fuck my life.

meh, it's been my experience chick's boyfriends are always easier to deal with AFTER you whip their ass.  Especially ones who call people things like "Bud" or "son", those kind of people usually just need a good ass kicking.

In Other News.

If you've admitted a crush, and she's got a BF, you're pretty much not going to see her until she ditches the BF unless she's got him so whipped he doesn't give a shit if she leaves him. One of the downsides of admitting a crush.

/hasbeenthroughthis

[edit] Also, I agree with Crow. If it was the BF who called you Bud, and he's talking about himself in the third person, he deserves a boot up the ass. [/edit]

Well it seemed like such a good idea at the time and I made my intention clear that I DID NOT in any way want anything about our friendship to change.  She seemed really thankful that I had let her know and was eager to spend more time with me knowing I was alright with having things platonic.

Also I can't kick his ass he looks huge and I'm scrawny as fuck.

why man invented guns

note: this post is a joke. diglett does not recommend shooting people or threatening people with guns. it is bad and someone will get hurt. use your meaty fists instead. if you do not have meaty fists, get some.

I'm confused, Odin, she says she doesn't want your relationship to change, then ignores you for a month?  ???

Females confuse the shit outta me, but I get the guy, he's just your average toolbox, an asskicking probably WOULD be good for him, but I don't really know how that'd go over with your friend.  Start calling him ace or other slightly annoying but not insulting things (slick, bud, champ, bro <_<)

In closing

Learn yourself some of them martial arts.

It feels good knowing you can kick someone in the face or incapacitate them using their own size and force against them. However, violence never really ends well, regardless of whose ass gets beaten. Having to resort to violence doesn't make you look too great and won't impress anyone.

--------------------

Also, get rid of that emotion bullshit. Your personality should still keep one facet of emotion though, just for appearances. I chose rage.

Emotions are useless, I tell you. Clog up logic.

Also, to second Hobo's statement:

Yea you can't win against psycho boyfriend unless she herself realizes how much of a douche he is. And you can't convince her of him being a douche because she will think you are biased. She has to decide on her own between her friends or her new BF.

I had a situation similar to this happen to me a few years ago.

I always had relatively few close friends in highschool, and I wasn't very good at that point at that point in getting girlfriends, only girl friends.

I had been best friends with this one girl since the 3rd grade, we were p.much inseparable most of the time. Fast forward to freshman year of high school(2001), when I finally get the nerve up to tell her that I've developed more feelings for her.

After much discussion and whatnot and knowing both our personalities, we decided if we tried to take that anywhere and it failed, we would ruin a very long friendship, and we remain best friends.

Fast forward to 2008, 3 years after we've graduated and we're still p.much best friends, if we don't see each other daily we're constantly texting and calling one another.

One night it's like 4AM, we're both leaving a mutual friends house we were chillaxing at, make normal plans to talk/see each other tomorrow, like we have for the last >= decade.

Fast forward to today, I've not talked to her in 2 years, that night was the last I ever spoke to or saw her. She simply didn't call, didn't text or reply to mine, ever again.

bitches are nothing but hoes n tricks.

in all seriousness though they are some crafty people.  odin if she was that good of friend of yours then she would have a problem with her boyfriend being a douchebag.

you have two options imo

1. let things cool down, contact then
2. bulk up, fuck some skulls
3. know who real friends are, forget about the girl, go find a new bitch (hardest but most rewarding)

you also have to think about it from the girl's viewpoint.  she has a boyfriend and a close friend just admitted he has feelings for her.  im fairly positive shes a little confused right now and needs to figure things out before she starts talking to you regularly again.  unless shes trying to distance herself from you in not exactly the best way.

also @kirby: /brohug.

That's really creepy. In the sense that it almost sounds like the flat out died or something.

I don't understand how people do that kind of stuff though assuming it's legitimate. I've respected things like friendship and appreciation for other people ever since I got into high school. It's slowly occuring to me (and blowing my mind) that a lot of people don't seem to get mature with their relations with other people until they get out of college. And surprise... by that point it's "too late". Sure I guess you can make work friends wherever you move or decide to work but you won't have any significant or lifelong friendships from your past to help drive you into the future.
