No, she's very much fine.

I knew her for so long and was such good friends with not only her but her mom as well, I never called her mom her name, but mom.

She doesn't know what happened, and when she tried to bring it up to my...ex-friend, she just blew her off and ignored the question.

Still talk to her mom on occasion though.

I had a situation similar to this happen to me a few years ago.

I always had relatively few close friends in highschool, and I wasn't very good at that point at that point in getting girlfriends, only girl friends.

I had been best friends with this one girl since the 3rd grade, we were p.much inseparable most of the time. Fast forward to freshman year of high school(2001), when I finally get the nerve up to tell her that I've developed more feelings for her.

After much discussion and whatnot and knowing both our personalities, we decided if we tried to take that anywhere and it failed, we would ruin a very long friendship, and we remain best friends.

Fast forward to 2008, 3 years after we've graduated and we're still p.much best friends, if we don't see each other daily we're constantly texting and calling one another.

One night it's like 4AM, we're both leaving a mutual friends house we were chillaxing at, make normal plans to talk/see each other tomorrow, like we have for the last >= decade.

Fast forward to today, I've not talked to her in 2 years, that night was the last I ever spoke to or saw her. She simply didn't call, didn't text or reply to mine, ever again.

That's really creepy. In the sense that it almost sounds like the flat out died or something.

I don't understand how people do that kind of stuff though assuming it's legitimate. I've respected things like friendship and appreciation for other people ever since I got into high school. It's slowly occuring to me (and blowing my mind) that a lot of people don't seem to get mature with their relations with other people until they get out of college. And surprise... by that point it's "too late". Sure I guess you can make work friends wherever you move or decide to work but you won't have any significant or lifelong friendships from your past to help drive you into the future.

Reality: Most people are emotional cowards. When they cannot admit something to themselves, they'll never admit it to someone else. So many are so woefully and willingly self-ignorant they cost themselves more than they can possibly imagine. The ability to decern the truth behind people's motivations lies within yourself, provided you are willing to plum the darkest recesses of your psyche.

yeah, people will rather cut themselves off from eachother than actually open up 99% of the time. have a bad relationship? #1 way to end it is to stop calling. people dont like to confront issues, plain and simple, and you can see it in literally every aspect of our world.

More like the worst way to handle it is to stop talking/avoid it, but everyone does it because it's easier to do on the short term. Even though it ends up being worse for you and them in the long term (knowledge wise, self confidence wise, and friendship wise assuming the two involved could have been good fulfilling friends).

Thing is if you're the kind of person who takes "easy way outs" (when in reality it's not that hard to just confront a friendship/relationship issue you have), then you really shouldn't be trying to date or become good friends with other people, because by virtue alone you are making yourself incompatable to other people beyond casual association or friend.

If I wanted to take the easy way out I would never have talked to her in the first place.

I wasn't directing that at you or anything, sorry if it sounded like I was.  I don't think you took the easy way out, it's just a trend I've noticed would happen with everyone during highschool and a few during college, and something that I've unfortunatly recently experienced myself.

It's alright, feeling better now.  Emotional rollercoaster has come to a stop, time to move on.

I'm at Ft Irwin, the middle of the desert.  There is no internet, except in starbucks, there is not grass, except in.... nevermind, there just plain is no grass, and there is a 50K fine for running over a desert tortoise with a HMMWV.  On the plus side, we got to play with a turtle for a bit during the environmental brief.

That being said, the next month is going to be both pretty awesome and The Suck.  Getting an OC of fuck, doctrine change, we're now "combat trainers", as a 2LT is a pretty awesome feather in my cap.  The 3 bunks next to me have 2 majors and a light colonel, I have an awesome opportunity to network here.  The dude with the bunk across from me is on special type of engineer team, and has already agreed to talk about getting me reassigned.

That relies on the assumption that the rest of the world has the same fucked up core as you do.

Still need to figure that last bit out.

I just found out what I'm doing for the next couple weeks, and the conversation started with a sergeant major, a major and 2 light colonels asking "are you good with computers?"

Fuck my life.  When am I going to learn to just say No.

I'm genuinely angry that I'm going to be stuck in an air conditioned building on main post all exercise.

yea, that right there was the biggest reason I opted out of doing anything with the reserves in boston, they were really pushing the IT jobs and I'm not gonna sign up to be somebody's fuckin computer guy. you have my sympathies

Jesus fucking CHRIST

Play Terran Conflict, I get done doing a LONG ASS escourt mission for money, killed a bunch of pirates, and ended up claiming an abandoned SUPER FREIGHTER as my own. With plans to sell, I eject from my newly claimed freighter and enter my main ship which I had parked close.  Apparently this fucked up the physics engine in making it so when I moved, it "moved" me inside of the freighter, causing me to explode and get a game over screen. I of course didn't save because you can only fucking save in space stations.

God fucking damn it the little quirks in that game are really starting to piss me off.
