I got called a terrible medic because I wouldn't heal a solider who had the equalizer out. Good job, soldier.

(07-04-2010, 12:34 PM)The Generic Name link Wrote: Yesterday (July 3rd), had to be the best damn day of my life.  First, I got roomate information, so I know who I will have to share a dorm with.  I had been waiting for it for a while now, so yea, that was cool.  Hell, I even contacted the guy.

Second, this girl I asked to Milwaukee's music festival, Summerfest, did not have an excuse not to come.  I had planned lunch with her the previous wednesday, but she had last minute plans that came up.  We went to summerfest and had a hell of a time.  We went to the PS3 tent and hung around there for a bit.

Finally, and most importantly, we went to go see a band both she and I love (What is the fucking point of going to a music festival if you are not gonna listen to some live music?!).  We went to see RUSH.  Now, I had seen Rush twice before at summerfest, and I was not dissapointed.  I expected no less from the greatest trio in the world (Suck It Jonas Brothers >Tongue ).  She desperately wanted to hear Subdivisions, and I just wanted to hear them play.  My god, was I in for a fucking surprise.
Instead of being a good concert, like I expected, this thing was........FUCKING INCREDIBLE.  I mean, I was really, really pleased with all of their songs, and they even played Subdivisions.  For a Rush fan, or anyone who wants to hear some amazing fucking music, this concert was the deffinition of FUCKING AMAZING (I looked up fucking amazing in a dictionary, and saw a picture of the concert as the deffinition).  What was also great about that night is that summerfest puts on a fireworks display for Independence Day on July 3rd!  Those Fireworks shot up right at the beginning of YYZ.  My god, it was epic.

So yeah, long story short:  Great Girl, Great Band, Great Visuals, Great Day

Here is the list of songs they played, in order:
Set 1
1. The Spirit of Radio
2. Time Stand Still (last played on Counterparts tour)
3. Presto (never played live)... See More
4. Stick It Out (last played on Test For Echo tour)
5. Leave That Thing Alone (last played on Vapor Trails tour)
6. Workin' Them Angels
7. Faithless (never played live)
8. BU2B (new song - never played live)
9. Freewill
10. Marathon (last played on Presto tour)
11. Subdivisions
Intermission
Set 2
12. Tom Sawyer
13. Red Barchetta
14. YYZ
15. Limelight
16. The Camera Eye (last played on Signals tour)
17. Witch Hunt
18. Vital Signs (last played on Vapor Trails tour)
19. Caravan (new song - never played live)
20. Drum Solo
21. Alex Solo (something new)
22. Closer to the Heart (last played on Vapor Trails tour)
23. 2112 Overture/Temples of Syrinx
24. Far Cry
Encore
25. La villa Strangiato (last played on R30 tour)
26. Working Man (last played on R30 tour)
I'M SEEING THEM SUNDAY FUCK YEAH! ;D

They opened with Limelight last time I saw them. However, The Spirit of Radio is an equally awesome opener.

In Toronto, Dream Theater only played a 45 minute set.  Was short.  I'm not a Dream Theater fan, so I didn't give a shit, but those that were were sort of pissed.

Dream Theater is one of the few metal bands I really really like. Along with Liquid Tension (which share band members iirc).

They played a pretty good set in Montreal last summer.  The drummer is pretty hilarious during his solos

I dunno how great this news is yet but after doing some research there is an alternative surgery. They can shave down the actual end of my Ulna. They can do this through a scope and it has a much faster recovery time and does not have the risk of the bone never healing like if they removed a wafer from the middle. Hopefully this option is available to me. My dad's friend is a p good neurosurgeon so he's going to check with his orthopedic buddies to find out a good doctor for me to get a second opinion with and maybe see if I could do that instead.
