Fml.  Someone did sommething stupid, then none would answer their damn radio, so it falls to the 2LT to stand outside the Colonel's (of the avian persuasion) office waiting to explain why things are fuckedup. 

It always feels bad in the moment, and it will always seem like BS theater 3 years later when you look back on it. Plus, it puts hair on your chest. Once you learn that most O-6s are tame, cause they've already made it (and flag officers even more made), you realize the dangerous ones are really the O-5s who need to make a name for themselves to get the feathers.

Yeah Rummy, this place has like the highest per capita or gold and silver oak leaves I've ever seen.  And I'm holding a O-3 slot, so when I get up and brief everyone's like, "why'd they send one of the assistants?"

My dad's going in for Gamma Knife radiation surgery tomorrow, and he's freaking out. I forgot to call him back last night, and I'm having trouble getting off work so I can go home to see him in a few weeks. Fucking suck. I talked to him this morning, he's having trouble talking on the phone and not bursting into tears because he's scared. I've never seen the man scared in the 26 years I've been alive. I'm just going to tell my boss to suck it and take the time off and go regardless.

Also, I need to decide if I'm doing the same to go down to TX for my friend's wedding. I haven't seen her in 13 years. I really want to spend some time with her before the day of the wedding to catch up, since afterwards they're locking themselves into the house for the honeymoon. I'm going to go either way, but it's a matter of trying to get time off to go so I can see her before she puts on her wedding dress, or not. Bleh.

I don't know if I can afford plane tickets for either of these activities, because I'm late on some of my bills. I paid them today, so I'll have to figure out on payday (friday) when I'm going where. Hopefully the $1100 in business expenses I just submitted will get paid out then as well. If not, I'm superfucked.

I want to post this on my blog but I don't want to broadcast it to my family and my friend. I definitely don't want it crossposted to facebook like most of my usual crap. It sounds emo but I want to reach out and I don't know who to talk to. I don't feel comfortable talking to my GF about it because honestly I feel like our relationship is on the ropes, and I don't want to make that even more complicated than it already is.

Time to get my shit into gear. Seems like I never get anything done unless I'm barely staying afloat. Need to work on that.
