to get to appdata, either turn off hidden folders or in run type %appdata%

You have to head in deep to the open caverns you find.  Sometimes they are easy to find, sometimes you have to do some digging.  I found an entrance actually by just digging down through a mountain for stone, basically making my own mining shaft with steps out till I found an entrance, though I eventually found another exit that led to open air and a lava tube.

Finally found some (12 pieces or so...), dug all the way to the bottom, found 64 redstone dusts and a few diamonds too.  Oh, and 6 pieces of gold.

Yet to run into any enemies either.

I'll post some pics of the updated Fort Oxide later, gotta build a moat first though. Cobblestone is great.

Buckets + Lava = bad idea

Just killed myself, my diamond pickaxe, iron pickaxe, bucket, gold helmet, some redstone and 5 more iron ingots lost forever. :'(

However, there's a cool lava spire outside my fort now.

Fort Oxide is coming along nicely, started mining in the cave on the right, but I haven't found much of anything besides coal...



I need to find iron ore and water.

Zip up the World # save folder and send it to me, I'll render one of them pretty-ass maps for you like I did mine.

Say hello to "The Shaft".  I decided instead of running off to find a cavern, that I would build my own right next to my island fort.  I dug this bitch all the way down to the bedrock, which I found it is invincible.  Also awesome for me, I dug over from the bottom and found myself some caverns to go through, so The Shaft paid off.  The picture shows it almost to the bottom, though it's actually a few tiers lower than what it is seen, but it's night right now lol

Also is Obsidian just super rock for basic building?  For how hard it is to dig out, not sure I'd use it for much.  Even with a diamond pick, it takes forever. And I certainly wouldn't build a fort out of it lol

Obsidian, Mossy Cobblestone and Furnaces are the best building blocks (besides air) for invinciforts, they're the most durable, and will severly dampen creeper bewms.

obsidian is immune to explosions if i recall, also takes like a full fucking minute to mine with a diamond pick. additionally, putting water on a lava spawner will turn it into obsidian

Can't say I've come across Mossy Cobblestone and I've given up on Obsidian. I don't care if it's indestructible, it's ridiculously long to mine lol
