Yea Allan, I know exactly how you feel. I got no friends, and I mean absolutely NO one here. I cannot wait to go back to my dorm for another 8 months of drunkeness and shenanigans with some of my best friends

Sister got arrested for shoplifting, Mom is freaking out and giving long speeches about how if any of us do it our lives will be ruined forever.

What happens when your high school friends are long gone and you go to a community college with no dorms and no good chances to meet anyone who isn't middle aged, and are still located in your same old town but now paying bills in an apartment
Me thats what lol Part of me loves my peace, freedom, and assloads of money I save by doing the above. Part of me hates it because I know I'll never be in a dorm and make great college friends, have a great variety of college experiences, etc through that

It'll be worse now because I'm not able to finish university, either. Now I'm just job searching alone. |

So, this is the month my lease starts for the apartment for college, and so far there have been some little hurdles what with me being on the other side of the state and all. Some issues with it not really being super move in able on the first (carpets need to be cleaned, there's some roof damage, and the vent covers are missing for some reason), me not being there to pick up the key so my folks had to get it, and my roommate wanting to move in before I do. All of that seemed managable. But today it looks like stuff is starting to hit the fan. My roommate woke me up in a bit of a tither because she was under the impression that the carpets had already been cleaned but they were quite dirty and the place still seemed to smell of smoke. So, admittedly, my bad for not keeping her in the loop, but she sent me a wall of text email tonight that just reeks of seething anger regarding her not moving in today despite her parents taking the day off and the issues with the roof, vents, and carpet. Towards the end of it she started talking about prorating this months rent and it was then that I realized that I'm actually in a kind of bad position. See, I signed the lease figuring I'd get a roommate somehow, so she's not technically on the lease and in the bustle of my job and summer I never got her to sign anything regarding actually paying rent, so as of right now, there's nothing more than some common decency and word of mouth keeping her from moving to another apartment or something.
so, tl;dr: I'm not near my apartment to oversee it, it's not really ready to move into anyway, and while there's nothing declared, it's possible for my roommate to just bail scott free at the moment. |

Is it weird that I prefer my highschool friends over any of the friends I made in University (aside from my girlfriend, I guess)? Always heard the old adage that the friends you meet in college are the friends you have for the rest of your life. I still talk to and hang out with the friends I've had since grade 6, while I don't think I've said a word to a college friend for over 2 years. Am I the only one here that's had this experience? |

Who knows, they could have a lot of people to go over, the person who has to actually make the decision could be out on vacation, or they could just be slow about it. It would be extremely unprofessional of them to not let you know if you didn't get the job after a third interview. Â Sig by Joel |

I think it has to do with the fact that in college you are exposed to people from all over with similar interests as you while in high school it's just random based on your location. |

I still hang out with mostly High School friends. Even since I moved to Omaha from Chicago, I haven't really made friends out here. I just have no desire to.

It's just most of the students are gone and there's no parties and stuff until September (other than people from my high school who are back for the summer, but I'm rarely invited to the big parties/I never really find out about them, the joys of not being cool in high school). |

Problem is I don't know when/where parties are happening.
Anyways, just basically told them to go fuck themselves. They've been assholes to me because they hate who I am. They hate the fact that I swear, they hate the way I walk, etc. The only thing we ever had in common was video games, and now I've got you guys for that. Fuck them, I'm gonna go make stoner friends with Funbucks. |
