[/quote]he says its not a prequel but if it still has bioshock in it the story's gonna relate somehow. they're just gonna remain extremely tight lipped on it until it comes out.

So, I was totally sure I was going to be able to make a post about Doom 4 when Carmack said he would reveal something big today. We got RAGE on the iPhone. Fuck.

Definitely looks like a sequel, but it's set in 1912?  Alternate universe maybe?

Old news to probably everyone but me, but Bioshock 2 wasn't actually made by Irrational Games. This makes a hell of a lot of sense, seeing how they created this amazing world in the first, then 2K just took it and essentially remade the same game.

But this whole flying city, even the way the buildings float (hot air balloon lifted platforms). The world itself I'm amazed at, I just hope gameplay wise they have a whole lot new to offer.

Kinda dissapointed since in thier podcast they said that it would be a completely new IP, but it obviously isn't. At least the setting is (sorta) new. I say sorta since it looks like it'll have the same themes, "time period" and style as the first bioshock except now in the sky.

I'm not sure if it'll interest me (I usually have no interest in victorian early-20th century settings at all, even if everything is steampunk), but I'll see I guess

There is a word in the press release that really scares me though.

Allegedly Elemental is coming out in like 10 days. They must be sitting on a bunch of assets because the beta is pretty rough so far visually

Oh god please use the Crysis engine.  And by that I mean Cryengine 3

If they develop it to be multiplatform then I hope they make it like Morrowind for the xbox (as in not dumbed down in any sense of the word). A had a small groupee of friends who loved morrowind and played it on xbox - it's just a game that the console market isn't used to seeing and really resonated with some "xbox'er" fans back in the PS2 days

Two years is a long time, but more STALKER is a must.  Not sure if I really want it to go Cry Engine, but if they can utilize it well, without losing that STALKER charm.  What worries you though?

Well, hey. If I can hit that quick-load button and not end up in some crazy universe where my allies are non-existent and the people I was fighting with are now my friends up until I go say hi, I'm all for it.

Ah no...Not another new engine *Flashes back to STALKER 1...ends up in corner, rocking back and forth and pulling on his hair*

It took them three games just to get their first one working properly lol

Capcom released a benchmark for Lost Planet 2. If somebody with an Nvidia card downloads it, can they post their results and settings? Better yet if you have a 400 series card and run it in DX11 mode. Doesn't run as well as I expect Capcom games too, but maybe it just doesn't run well on ATI hardware.

I hope so.  The last beta was pretty unplayable, both visually and physically (thanks to the endless "OUT OF MEMORY" bugs)
