When I restart it boots fine, but when I boot it cold it gets hung up at the mobo screen. Anyone know why this is?

Clear your EEPROM, reseat memory/video.
See if that helps. |

I've experienced a similar issue with a machine and the problem turned out to be an inadequate PSU. Something to look into if other solutions don't work.

you don't have a USB drive like a flashdrive or an ipod connected during startup right?

I only have headphones, my case splits the USB ports into 2 each though. This may be a part of the problem now that I think about it because when I booted to the windows 7 cd and asked it to repair the boot it said to unplug USB hubs. |

See your manufacturer's documentation for specifics. [/quote] He means your BIOS in case you're confused. Also, do you have a 2nd PSU handy to start up and see if lack of wattz is the problem? If you do, just find the green wire in the 20 or 24 pin main connector, and jump that to any of the black wires in the bundle, that will turn the PSU on so you can use it do power up other things in the case. Example: I've got my primary PSU powering my mobo, fans and optical drives while the secondary PSU is hooked into all the HDD's and video card. |
