The Offical Minecraft BRB,u Omega Thread [SMP Server Up]

After a bit of distraction with other games, I'm getting back into this. My main project has been my path, which will head in a downward direction on my map towards some large hills. I intend to make some dig in homes in these.

I think my next job will be to work on my railroad.  I swear my launcher system only works half the time.  It could use some proper lighting too, so I think I'm create some lave beacons on either side of it every so often since Lava is easy to use like that. Found a whole new tunnel system a few mountains away that I'd like to be able to find my way back from since there is no simple map or even directions in this game.  I'd love to get a cheap and simple compass and maybe a depth distance.

Yeah, I think I could be alright with just a compass, but sometimes I think a map would be good. I mean maybe even if we could MAKE our own maps if we can make paper, that would also be nice.

The Clouds always move to the north, also a Nav system would be nice in my opinion, as well as an ability to drop beacons for it..

Just had this weird dream I was playing minecraft and was playing in this new world. I was walking around for  a bit and I saw this structure. It was a cobblestone building complete with a wooden deck and fence rails. I was thinking to myself I didn't make this and was wondering if this was like an NPC village that no one else knew about. I walked around the front and got swarmed by a whole bunch of skeletons and zombies even though it was in broad daylight.
I ran away but took a picture. I closed the game and went to go post the screenshot in this thread, but I couldn't find the picture. I loaded the save back up again, but the structure wasn't there. :o

I'm starting to wonder why everything bursts into flames when I'm not looking.. I had plans for an epic forest (I had chopped down more trees than I can count to build guard railing for the quarry)  so, I planted around a hundred twenty saplings, three days later, I turn around AND IT'S ALL ON FIRE?!

Creeper paratroopers, resources impossible to find unless I've gotten lost, anything flammable spontaneously combusting when I turn my back on it? Yeah.. the game hates me.

I have the most bizarre world.  No real mountains, but like, half mountains.  It's hard to explain, and I haven't really found any places to get good screenshots, but a lot of the mountains I've found are hollowed out, with caverns that go through them basically.

Here's an ok idea of what I'm talking about



Two hills, connected by a 'bridge.'  That cave on the left isn't deep at all, ends where the light does, basically, with another exit around the pillar type thing.

I also just found a naturally floating block  :o



And another floater, are they really this common?

Those are the best kinds of worlds, my favorite so far is on mine there's a tree growing out of a single block of dirt suspended in the sky XD

It's that lava chute you have in the top area of that screencap.


Lava can light shit on fire from like 3 blocks in any direction if you leave it long enough.




One would think that after 2 occasions of stuff "randomly" lighting on fire you'd figure that out.




Go to 2:46 and pause in my base video, notice the stone walkway being supported by wooden timbers up near the top of the lava chute?

I had to replace that wooden support 2x before I walled in the lava w/ glass to stop it from lighting it up.
