I've yet again lost all my saves regarding earthbound, meaning I will have to start over for the seventh time.
Yes this is small but still bums me out, I've been trying for a long time to finish this game, but something always seems to happen where my saves are corrupted. Blue Crew.....I got nothing flashy set up. |

Also, get a fresh memory card if you're playing it on a console.

Since my dad lost his job, the only thing he does is sit on the computer and smoke.
Unfortunately for me, my room is next to the comp room, and since i work at night, all i do at day is sleep, with my dad smoking all day next to me. It's been more than a year in this condition, and the second floor, where my room and the comp room are stinks. I can't even sleep properly because all i do is cough and feel this weird feeling on my throat. Also, since all the smoke comes into my room, i must sleep with my 2 windows open, sometimes with temperature of 1°C and below. Yesterday my gf came home and we wanted to watch a movie, but my dad wouldn't stop smoking no matter how much we asked. After a little argument, he stopped and kept playing that fucking stupid poker game on facebook, but the room was so full of smoke that my gf asked me if we could go outside. So no movies, no Wii, no whatever. I don't know how to ask my dad to stop smoking. He is the only one in the house who does it and it's bugging everyone, but everytime i try to talk with him about how much it bugs us and how bad is for his health he just answers "Well you don't want to study something useful, and i'll smoke as much as i want". I know he acts like that because he's going under lots of stress and he can't escape his vice. But it is really starting to become harmful for the whole family. Aaalso, i went to the doctor today and he said i'm starting to develop an Asthma due to this. And what was my dad's answer? "Deal with it, the living room is too cold". Yes, he plays on a Notebook.

Tell him he's going to have to smoke outside if he won't quit, if he doesn't it's going to worsen your Asthma condition and most likely trigger constant Asthma attacks in the future.

I am, and i don't want to. That's not the point.
The point is my dad is being too selfish and narrow minded. Even if i move, my brothers will have to endure his smoking habits. And besides that.. this might sound really cheesy, but i want my dad to meet my children (if i ever have any) I want them to have a grandfather, because i know what it is like to live without one. And if my dad keeps having those smoking habits, i know he won't last more than 10 more years. |

See if he'd be willing to try Chantix/Champix.
I know a number of people it has worked work (all who tried it successfully quit) and even the ones who are generally cranky weren't worse while they were off their habit. It's also cheaper then smoking. |

Which is exactly what he's doing. Chantix is kind of a miracle drug, it makes the nicotine not work so smoking becomes unpleasant. Makes it super easy to quit, but it can be pricey. I'd say Vongore, with your father's smoking habits, if it's really hurting your welling being, you need confront him about it and tell him how its effecting your health. If he's the one responsible for you, he better start acting like it. One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards. |

But dad's house, dad's rules. Best thing vongore can do is to just get out before too much damage is done. Go ahead and pester him about the smoking obviously but until he see's what kind of harm is being done to others, he's not going to quit. 11:35 Socks Greatbacon_work: Just accept the idea of enemas. |

[/quote] Yeah, that's what he does besides playing. It's not like he's a loser. He's a well known comercial engineer and was the Vice president of the biggest mall franchise in Chile. Unfortunately, the company was bought and he lost his position. And as he says, having a strong resume is great. But having a strong resume such as his tends to intimidate other companies. I still can't figure out why, but almost 2 years without a job can proove it, i guess :/. |

Stayed home sick from school today (was actually very sick). Still not feeling good, so I Was planning on staying home tomorrow just so i could get a good night's sleep and not have to stress about doing homework. Going ot bed at 11:30, my dad says i'm going to school tomorrow. So now I get to stay up until 4 doing homework and probably getting more sick. Awesome.
Oh, and if we don't get 9 freshman out to practice tomorrow we're going to do roughly the equivalent of running a marathon (in terms of energy expenditure) in about 18 minutes. (09-14-2010, 10:54 PM)Kor link Wrote:I'm pretty sure my mental image of Tort is 100% accurate now. |
