Well, recent apple event revealed some new products

Let me break it down for you while showing you my disappointment afterwards

NEW iPod nano
I own a 4th generation ipod touch. This next generation ipod touch gives you...

-an unneeded shrinkage of near 50%
-A touch screen
- A new OS that you totally dont need.
+24 hours of battery life

NEW ipod shuffle
-They brought back basic buttons

NEW iPod TV

THE PART WHERE I BITCH ABOUT IT
I own an ipod nano. Its the 4th generation and i use it alot. Its simple and great, i can make it last like, 10 hours? I dont usually track apple stuff but i read this article on gizmodo and it just reeked of fail.

This next ipod nano is half the size, last 24 hours, and comes in standard memory size with this unneeded OS+touch screen. IF they could do this at HALF THE NORMAL SIZE, why couldnt they just pimp out the nano? maybe give it a working camera? I mean CMON. its the size of your damned thumb, why give it a touch screen? Hell, this new OS is probably more energy consuming than the older one.
Apple, JUST DAMNED PIMP OUT YOUR OLDER GENERATIONS. This new version is absolutely retarded, and the media shall hype it to the point in which i shall pick pocket one and smash it in the medias face.


then comes ipod shuffle. Whippy do, you gave it buttons again. Good for you.

Ipod tv? a dollar a tv show. No more surfing channels, but you can view youtube videos. So instead of watching the plethora of shit i usually do for a monthly fee in which my parents pay i can pay a dollar a show,  4 dollars a movie, oh, and watch youtube. No thank you.

The new apple tv is pretty retarded to begin with, but even more so considering that you can get a mac mini for almost the same price and install plex on it (version 9 is out today!) as well as a bunch of emulators.

ipod nano.  they needed to have it smaller, cut out the bullshit (camera) so you can have more of a no frills music player with 24 hour battery life.  the os is fine.  they are just trying to make everything have iOS4 because thats just how apple do.  nano is back to having buttons, which it desperately needed.



my only complaint is that they didnt go with iphone 4 design.

I'd be the market for an ipod tv if the price were right, but right now the price is suckit. Well maybe not actually, I think I could get 2-3 seasons for my current monthly. God the internet has distorted my ability to value things. If hulu was on there I'd be sold though. Except of course what Mission mentioned, the mac mini is the far better investment.

In all honesty, I wish my iPod had a camera.  I was pretty pissed off when the most recent iPod Classic didn't have a camera built into it (makes more sense to have one in the Classic than the Nano, right?).  I don't have a cell phone, but would like the luxory of having a camera on me for "those moments".  I'm sure as hell not going to carry my digital camera around with me at all times though, because the less crap I need to carry, the better.

well from what i know (my friend has a zune+pass)

basically you can just go on to zune store, download unlimited songs.  you can keep the songs for as long as your subscription lasts.  you can also search and download from the zune as well.  an added bonus is that you can download 10 songs a month permanently. 

the zune library is actually quite surprising in terms of how extensive it is, they also regularly release free albums and things for promotion which is cool.
