Wolfwood, I know I'm just a new guy here, but good on you for taking the plunge and telling people about this! It's great that your parents (more particularly your mum) are behind you, and from reading your journal entries it seems Jan is being a great support. As you've already found, writing about your feelings in this way (journal/autobiography later) really boosts your confidence and helps explain things to people in a way that isn't quite as confronting. I've never felt like I'd want to do something resembling your goal, but it's still easy to appreciate your story. Best of luck in the future!

This is a big step.  It takes courage to do this and to come to terms with yourself.  From the point of view as an RN, you should find a TG friendly therapist (more than just the support group) and look into various endocrinologist options.

Yeah I'm going to be getting my therapy through the Persad Center based in Pittsburgh PA, they're the nation's second oldest GLBT support group. I'm lucky because they have a outreach center where I live, so I don't have to drive into Pittsburgh for therapy. Jan's my therapist and I created my blog the evening after I had my intake meeting with him. We set up my first therapy session for next Wednesday last night.

Everyday I get more excited.
