While I understand that many power users are screaming and banging their heads against their desks, this is all for the best. The complex computers we use today are being replaced by simplified, task-oriented computers that are designed to help users work faster and focused on their objectives. Computers shouldn't be tools for computer scientists. Computers should be practical tools and sources of enjoyment for people in offices and studios,

Clerks, designers, engineers, economists, illustrators, architects, gamers, photographers, journalists, film makers, teachers, students, or musicians... for those people, everyone in the planet except a very few, the file structures and the windowed user interface are imposed by paradigms that have long been obsolete, crumbling conventions that have been growing in complexity through the years.

Well either way, we're the ones keeping computers real! Don't let the other guy take away your right to choose our way. We should be taking away HIS right to choose, because if he were smarter, he'd be one of us too!

Meh, every OS has its ups and downs... I quite like Mac OS X but I've started to hate apple for the attitude they have, the way they handle the iPhone and the iPad when it comes to freedom to what you like with your own device sickens me, and sure you can say "but you can jailbreak it" but that doesn't remove the issue that Jobs wants to dictate what his customers do. That attitude actually makes me happy that MS, a crap company making a good gaming OS, became dominant back in the day because if apple kept dominance we would all be locked in an appstore for our PCs.

It's that mindset that will make sure I'll never buy an iPhone or anything else from Apple ever again and I'm very happy that Android is becoming dominant when it comes to smartphones.

MS was bad before it became big, the only reason they became dominant is because Billy G bought DOS and did some backroom deals to get it on IBM PCs, weirdly enough Apple was actually giving out blueprints with their PCs back in those days.

Oh hey, it's this thread again.

My iPod's center button broke. I lost an mp3 player and gained an 80GB external hard drive. I just use my phone's mp3 player now. Much easier carrying one thing than two anyways.

I felt this way when my mp3 player died on me.

I didn't gain an external hdd, but it did provide much entertainment when .22 tracer rounds were slamming into it. Then I just started to use my laptop for all my music. >_>

Who would have thought, .22 tracer rounds. So much fun. Also too fucking expensive.
