Okay.. i'm applying for one, and i have two possibilities.
Hurry up the process and go this year, but only with a small ammount of jobs to pick (also, the ones nobody wanted) which are: My other option is to wait to the 2011-2012 summer (your Winter) where i'll have more jobs and places to choose from. Knowing the areas, maybe places and jobs that are being offered, what migh be your picks? Thanks PS: Also, if there's a place that's like on the middle where we could make a big brb.u metting, it would be awesome too |

Obviously all the locations there, save the one in New Jersey (and the one in New Mexico, where the hell is Zona Norte? It's not a town, save in Tijuana.) are major urban centers, like, the most densely populated areas in the US. Might be a bit of a transitional shock for you, judging from the background of the pic I saw of you.
The pay for all of them is extremely below average, but seeing as how I skipped college and went straight to 40+ hours a week as a slave, I'm not sure what the average college age student working less than 40 hours a week makes anyway. I'd wait until next year, there's a reason the jobs are still free. Manhattan isn't the friendliest city in the US, and 'specially not for someone that isn't making $100,000+ a year, it's an expensive place. I dunno exactly where you are in Chile, but I can tell you both the PA and NJ places are of average population density (Roughly 2,000-2,500 people per sq/km) with Harrisburg being the larger and more urban. |

Id go for either of the photographer jobs, the others really do not look all that appealing :-\

I think resort worker or photographer would be preferable to bus boy/cashier. I'm guessing the housing column is an allowance used for renting an apartment which is not even close to what it will cost you unless you rent a shithole or have a ton of roommates. But if you add that $400 to what you make at the job you take, you could probably get by, especially if you live out in Queens/Brooklyn/The Bronx (to a lesser extent, Staten Island, but it's kind of a pain to get around there unless you have a car.) Also, I wouldn't call New York unfriendly. Impersonal maybe, but hardly unfriendly. Just really fast paced. Transportation shouldn't be an issue here either. $89 gets you an unlimited month on the subways and buses.

I see you being a good photographer. Also if you go to NYC I'll totally come see you when I'm back in NY.

I'm pretty sure that just means Northern New Mexico. I'd figure it's just a resort town-type place. Those places kinda own. I'd personally pick that, it's got the cheapest housing cost too (of course it's probably out in the middle of nowhere). But there's plenty of snow (seeing as it's a ski resort and all).

[/quote] I thought the same, butbeing in the middle of nowhere would leave me with no chances of having at least a mini brb.u meeting, which is like my primary goal (besides the money and being able to buy stuff, which also is eliminated by being on a resort) |

as a busboy in NYC you can drink, smoke weed, and get laid like a champ. and maybe even learn how to cook.
