This is very true. Instanced combat takes a lot away from the game. Just imagine if APB had only one server with a map the bigger then GTA 4 and had a proper free for all territory control system. That would make an epic game.

About the only thing that could strangle this in the crib is instanced combat, if they announce it to be instanced, I will not buy or sub

Good old Kaaos.  I used to rape their air squads.   I got as fas as the title and didn't watch anymore  lol


Well,  considering we're about 4 months away with no alpha, beta testing, I have my doubts.     Either this game exists or more vaporware.    If it does exist and I know my S.O.E,  I will make a guess that this new planetside will be exactly the same old planetside with just a cosmetic face lift which is fine by me.   There's still not a game out there that can compete with the original.   If I get to see 3 factions, at 333 people per faction on one server/continent, i'll be a happy man.

Its mostly just them airswarming BFRs, and yea, their pilots on the whole were nothing compared to 1CMM, TRx, or AC, but you roll 30 reavers on a target and its impressive no matter who is in the cockpit.

John Smedley has just updated his blog with some new PlanetSide details:

In other news - early next year we will have announcements about Planetside Next followed by a beta. I can say this - it's coming along awesome. I can also say that the first beta testers are going to be current Planetside subscribers. I've gotten a lot of email from current players offering to help test the game and we're going to take them up on it.
