Nobody is prevented from receiving healthcare in the US. According to this court ruling, Congress does not have the Authority to implement it. At most, it should be left up to the states. But because other courts have ruled otherwise, you can bet your ass it'll wind up in the supreme court.

[/quote]They're prevented from receiving 'healthcare' (meaning, affordable health insurance and its associated benefits) by market pressures - there isn't a way for the insurance company to make money by insuring them, so they're uninsurable (and therefore can't receive 'healthcare'). Although arguably that's just quibbling over syntax.

Health insurance in the US is a pretty bad deal overall.

for-profit insurance companies: a bad idea

make money by not giving you what you paid for, then telling you we have the best healthcare system in the world and every other country's is awful? sounds good to me

Federal judges on the district, circuit, and appellate courts are bound by U.S. Supreme Court precedent. That's the way case law in this country works. This judge took it upon himself to disregard Supreme Court decisions of the past, and to rewrite interpretations of the law based on the perceived ideals of the Founding Fathers.

Naturally this is going to go to the Supreme Court. In the meantime, Judge Vinson issued no injunctions against the law, so it is Affordable Care Act business as usual while the appeal process gets rolling.

Getting my system ready for a format C:\ and re-install soon. I was backing up my \games folder, 378 GB, 311,091 files.

Got to thinking about the old days, when my HDD was 5.99GB and I had to think long and hard about what 600MB worth of game I wanted to delete when I got a new game to install.

I love technology.

I still have a 1.2GB (I think that's the capacity) 5.25" hard drive downstairs.

A study was done to determine that yes, in fact, that every human from any race averaged together will look nearly identical to one-another.

I could have said that was true simply because we're all based on the same freakin' template.

I bet that study was done in the US, too...

People look pretty good when they're really average, I suppose.

Proposed design document for a rejected Metroid game by Retro Studios that was to be set between Prime 1 and 2.
