"The fanatical atheists are like slaves who are still feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle."
That quote is from a pretty smart dude who figured out something about space and time or something. Atheists should not preach non-religion, they should instead simply not give a fuck. Feeling generous? Karf is a respectable human being. http://i.imgur.com/MTVw5.png Thank you, Mr. Pelican. ![]() |

Update on my weekend: my family is driving me to drink. I want to go home.

[/quote]If there's no evidence that something exists, there's no reason to say that it might. You can't really lump all religions together. There are the ones that pretty much just tell you to be a basically good person, to treat everyone equally, and treat others how you'd want to be treated, and that's fine. But then there are the ones that fly planes into buildings, kill abortion providers, discriminate on arbitrary and uncontrollable things, want the government to reflect their religion and only their religion, and tell everyone to spend their life savings and kill their children because the world is going to end tomorrow, and that's not fine. Most atheists, I'd bet, only really have a problem with the latter, but an attack on one aspect of religion is seen as an attack on all of them. Not only do I not get to fly back to Baltimore today (and fuck my lady), but I have to drive 5 hours to rural Wisconsin instead, to troubleshoot a machine that another engineer was too lazy to fix. GREAT SUCCESS.

Lack of proof is not proof of the negative. So that there's some flawed logic on your part. In other words, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence (also known as the ignorance fallacy). Also I'd quite like to see some conclusive proof that there is no god/higher power/deity, because I am quite sure there is none. Also you need to learn what extremism is, and why it's bad to lump extremism in with the norm. Because right now you look really, really dumb. |

'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'
