Curious to see what other sites you guys have frequented and what led you here in the first place. I'll give you my rundown, as chronologically as I can remember:
  • Pokemon AAAH! - PA! for short. A site to help you make your own Pokemon cards (we called them fake cards). Provided blank templates, font choices, pixel placement, all that. Good stuff. Dead forum now, sadly.
  • Pokemon Zeo - An offshoot of PA!, run by two former PA! admins. Helped popularize fake card-making even more. Forum is pretty much dead.
  • GameFAQs - Found my way here in the early days of the site when it was linked to by GameSages, IGN's cheat code affiliate. I still hang around here.
  • NSider - Nintendo's official forums, closed down a few years ago. Didn't post much, but I loved their weekly trivia nights.
  • nin10doh - An IRC channel that's a smaller community of (now former) NSider members. It's where I know LV15GAMER and Squishy, and how I wound up here at BRBU. Still here, too.

That's the main stuff. What sites are/were you guys at?

  • Clock Crew - Spent a loooot of time on the Clock Crew forums for a number of years.  The Clock Crew was a Newgrounds flash animation community that expanded and got really, really big.... to the dismay of most Newgrounds users.  Not entirely sure why, but I stopped going to the forums eventually.  Probably because the community had become too big, and started to implode in on itself.
  • The Clan of the Wroshyr - Star Wars Galaxies clan that I was part of.  An all-wookiee clan that played on the Starsider server.  SWG died, so there wasn't much of a reason to stick around.
  • Murdergrounds - A Day of Defeat clan that I was a part of for a couple years.  Left because of a few things.  University had me too busy to really play anymore, they weren't exactly my kind of people, and I sort of just lost track.
[li]Bill Brasky Recreational Society - AH-MAY-ZING.  Loved my time here.  This was a really small community who existed only to reminise (create new stories) over our experiences with that 8ft, 2 ton son-of-a-bitch Bill Brasky (SNL sketch by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay)!  Community died out because of it's small size.  Also, that asshole Chuck Norris came along and stole Brasky's steeze.

I hung around Dustloop for a while, but that place is stiff.
Used to hang around a lot of places, actually. Now-a-days I just play games or do stuff.

Uh, before this....

A really old star wars community around the time rebellion and x-wing versus tie fighter came out

Triads & Planetside forums - my old PS group

EBA - Offshoot of the PS Group when everyone left to play WoW, some of us played CSS for a while

Destructiod - Was extremely active here from about 6 months after it opened, left when brbu formed as the people that ran it basically failed at community management

Uh, here?

Recently Ive started posting a bit on Smogon, and I've lurked a lot on reddit (post occasionally)

I guess I used to lurk the Poll of the Day forum at GameFAQs, but I'm not sure if that counts since I never really participated. I started going to the TF2 Friday Night Fights at Destructoid right before BRBU split off from them, so that's how I got here.

I used to be part of a flash animation community called the "Lock Legion". If you've ever seen those odd animations on Newgrounds where there will be inanimate objects with clockfaces or keyholes on them then that's what I'm referring to. Probably joined up when I was around 12, used to go by the nickname "Glock", which later got changed to "Eightball". Thing is, I never animated much--never had any artistic talent. I hung around with a group of them as we started gaming more and more, things like Ragnarok Online and Battlefield 2142, before we came across TF2. The first times we played on the BRB servers was when we sported those multicolored megaman "derp" avatars. After a little bit of drama I ended up affiliating less and less with the LL, and BRBU has since become my home. In between the LL and BRBU I also was a regular member of several small, private RO servers, sometimes GMing, sometimes not.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Black Aspen knows what I'm talking about. What was your persona?

Repeatedly ignoring forum posting rules regarding racism according to the admin. I posted a picture in 2007 that was construed as racist. After not having so much as a PM warning for the next 3 years I post a different picture that was construed as racist in June 2010 and bam, banned.

1. Brawl frontier - a small ssbb forum that is only really alive in a chatbox now. (split from a slightly larger one that I was part of)
2. Dtoid - not terribly active, but it led me to BRB.U once I got TF2.
3. MAG forums - I lurk a bit in the offical forums.
4. Reddit - Lurk mostly, but I'll post every so often.
5. HFboards - more active when NJ is playing, but I frequent it.

Goony goon goon, a bunch of Bandai forums, and before that were THE DARK TIMES with plenty of secret people forums and stuff.

I've been around but those are the notable ones. I have yet to run into some of my older posts before I learned how to type proper, though.
