Finally I can post a thread on this with more info coming out, a teaser released, and the game being playable at E3. I'm quite excited to hear they revamped the combat and AI for the game. http://www.destructoid.com/preview-metro....phtml#ext And the teaser trailer... Am I the only one who absolutely hated Metro 2033?
Anyways, as long as they use an engine that completely rapes your computer, I guess I'll look into it. I've seen a few games with a horrible debut and ended up with an amazing sequel. I played it pretty late so maybe most of the bugs were worked out but I'd rate it up there with bioshock, maybe a little higher.

I wouldn't call Metro the most amazing game ever, but it had such good atmosphere and it was a challenging survival shooter, even if the stealth mechanics were broken. Seeing that they are looking at fixing that with the sequel, while making the AI better and tweaking the combat, I couldn't really ask for more from the sequel.Â
Oh and making sure the mask filters work right. I hated having to like re-attach new filters almost immediately afterwards, sometimes multiple times, cause it wasn't replenishing the dial at all. I mean, maybe that was "realism" with broken filters, but it just seemed like a busted game mechanic to me lol |

This game is out and it is really really good. I think I'm close to beating it on Ranger mode.

It's certainly my game of the year so far, but that's because it was THE game this year I wanted most. I think in general it is better in most areas than the first, even if stealth is almost alittle too easy this time around, even on Ranger mode, but man it was exactly what I was expecting.

AI is kind of dumb. It's not enough to take you out of the immersiveness of the game except in rare instances. But you can learn to take advantage of it for 95% of all stealth encounters. |
