Well with it's official announcement, lets hear the thoughts about it and the eventual game releases.
The PS Vita is out this year, holiday season, with an impressive 250 dollar price tag for the Wifi version and 300 dollars for the 3G/Wifi version from AT&T. Along with all the tech features it has, I was quite impressed with the PS3/Vita integration, though I'm not sold on the touch gameplay that was shown in Uncharted, which looks really uncomfortable to go back and forth between the screen and buttons. As for games talked about, nothing too astounding...Uncharted 3, Mod Nation Racers, Little Big Planet, Tenchu, Street Fighter vs Tekken, and I believe there was more talked about before, but I forget what ones there were. Overall, it has me split on what handheld I may get now. http://www.destructoid.com/e3-sony-confi...3067.phtml

599 US dollars
sf x tekken was cool until they decided it needed characters completely unrelated to either. if he's anything better than mediocre, f that game. playing a fighting game on a portable system sounds terrible anyway. nothing interesting at all for me |

I certainly won't buy it at launch, same with the 3DS as all the good stuff will be out later. Â I'll probably give both a year after release and see whats cooking then.

I might pick one up close to launch depending on what comes out. I got a PSP a few months after launch and liked it a bunch, and it's the same price as that (and a 3DS for now).
I loved all the boos when they announced it was locked to ATT. After they eat Tmobile it's not like there's even another GSM carrier in America, and 3g in a handheld sounds dumb anyway. |

Games looks pretty cool. I'm likin how they completely leapfrogged the 3DS with multitouch, duel analog, HD screen, back touchpanel, tilt sensing, and still set it at $250. Only thing I'm wonderin about is the battery life, but in the off chance it's actually decent, I'll probably pick this up instead of a 3DS.

Also the $300 unit is going to be subsidized by AT&T, which you will also likely have to sign onto a monthly contract for, do you really want to be paying $30 - $40 per month for your handheld? With the latency 3g has I dunno how you'd even play a proper online game with it. |

[/quote]If it's anything like the iPad 3G version it'll just be month to month basis, you don't get forced to sign up for it and there's no commitment. Also really don't expect anyone to be playing games on 3G, just browsing the web and stuff like that. |
