They just hire folks off the streets and train them for a few weeks. Not everyone should be allowed to pass that training. |

We are treated excellently and everyone I meet is actually friendly and social. I love it. |

HUGE math exam in an hour. For some shitty reason my program forces students to take a normally 2 semester long course worth 5 credits and finish it in 6 weeks.Â

Saw pictures of a friend dressed in a female mask, makeup, and panties that were sorta see-through so I'm pretty sure I saw his testicles. His dominatrix wife is fucking crazy. And I know I'm not the only one who saw them as they were posted on Facebook for an hour or two before he took them down.

yeah you can put that shit on fetlife, where people know what they're logging onto, but putting it on facebook suddenly involves a whole bunch of random strangers in your sex life, without their consent. Consequences will never be the same.

So anyways. "You know when the team leads' assistant was asking everyone when they wanted to take their vacations? Turns out that doesn't mean one fucking thing . You have to make the time off request yourself in the system. Sucks to be you I guess. Welp." So... I need to find people to cover my shifts next week. And I'm not gonna get any vacation pay. Motherfucker, great job work. Well fucking done not making that clear, and fucking other people over as well. |

Oh yeah, meanwhile the leads and managers and supervisors get extra bonuses if their people don't take vacations. They didn't just forget about it like they said. Screwing you gets them money.
I remember jobs when I would just say "I don't give a fuck, I will go to the convention" and put in my two weeks' notice if my vacation requests got turned down. Times like now, though, I wish I had a job to fuck off from to go to a con. Unemployment insurance is enough to live on, if you like staying at home. |

I'll find people to cover my shifts. Even if it ends up giving them overtime. I give no fucks for the corporate masters. It's just bullshit that they didn't explicitly say "you still have to enter your request in the computer elsewise tough luck." So...yeah. I'm gonna make it to AC, and I'll get a vacation still in the future. So Ima go see my boyfriend and get paid for it.

double post
thought I'd just run downstairs to get dinner started but nooooo, I'm cooking the whole fucking thing and then come back upstairs 2 hours later finding some ragey IM's on steam because no one bothered to tell me there was a Derby match tonight until just before game time EDIT: Alright, yeah, considering it was Friday night, everyone's asses needed to be covered better. Two hours before match is not enough notice to clear my calendar for a match, especially on a Friday night. Yes, I checked the boxes on the doodle some weeks ago. And then, not having any other plans, I cooked dinner for my roommates and enjoyed this fine meal while my team lost. Now that I think about it, this is exactly the kind of thing that a small "intramural" tournament like Dong Derby is designed to do: to teach us the skills needed to succeed at comp, and to see what can possibly happen so we can include it in future contingency plans. One possible way forward out of this would be encouraging the team to share email addresses or mobile IM things so we can get text messages even when we're not at our desks. (Note to Valve: Please do not make a steam IM client for my phone. Just do not go there.)

Considering today was Friday, it fucking sucked nuts.

All this? Scratch it all. I'm back to square one because they'd go into overtime, and oh no, we can't fucking have that. Nope, never overtime because that would hurt the supervisor people. Fuckers. So I still need to find people to work my shifts. God-fucking-dammit fuck corporate BS, all this could have been avoided if they did their fucking job so I could get shit together on my end. But nope, they have to tell me after the fucking fact so I can't do fucking shit about it. |

Like I said. Screwing you out of vacation time saves the company money.

I'm trying to smoke ribs on my charcoal grill and the bastard doesn't want to come up to temp. I'm doing a quick smoke method that supposedly cooks them in 2 to 2 1/2 hours instead of 4-5 hours. But I need the temp inside the grill to be between 325F and 350F and it wont get over 230F. This would be perfect if I was smoking them for 6 hours but I don't have that kind of time. I love BBQing but sometimes it's a bitch.
