Achievement Whoring Night?

Anyone else interested?  Given tonight's appearance of griefers who wanted to kill the medics attempting to get simultaneous ubers rockin, maybe we should consider a passworded night (or maybe just when admin controls return) to get some of the almost forced-to-be-set-up-beforehand medic achievements?

I just want my SuperAIDS gun.  New healy gun would be neat, but not a huge rush to get, and the ubersaw is one that is not a priority to me at the moment.

I am up for it. I don't give a shit about being proper with the medic unlocks..only with the sniper unlocks will I be this way.

On a server I was playing on earlier, I saw 2 people unlock all 39 achievements at once, ie haxx. The guys that did it said type achievements_unlock_all or some such nonsense into the console, and that only certain servers were allowing it. I don't know if it works (no one else got all 39, and I didn't want to goof with it), but it may or may not allow you to globally unlock all the medic achievements (ie, it might just unlock them on that server).

That's the stats page for the guy who did it. You can see he's got the Milestone 1, 2, and 3 achievements, but not most of the others. So I guess it's a server-side thing.

I agree. And on that note, anyone wanna have a race to the UberSaw? Perhaps make a wager, like winner picks the losers Steamname for a week, or the loser must be the weiner's dedicated medic for a week?

EDIT: Many really are not that difficult to get without whoring. I got the first unlockable weapon playing for about an hour last night, and the only whoring I did was begging for the last smack for Sawbones so I could get the Buttslaughter (I don't care what it's called, that's what I'm calling it). The gun is pretty fucking meh though. I prefer my stream of crits needles gun. On Goldrush, I managed to sneak behind the enemy team while they had 4 medics building ubers, and from about 100ft, unleashed an entire clip of crit-needles on them and their soldiers. Let me just say, the death and destruction doled out at that moment rivaled that of 300. 6 dead in a matter of about 8 seconds, the time it took those needles to reach their destination.

Or the griefers looking to get their achievements with no regard for the rest of the team? Even I was getting sick of that.

I wouldn't mind spamming until I get the first weapon unlock, but to be honest if you're a remotely decent medic you'll be able to get that pretty quickly. Ten hours at the absolute most. I stopped trying for specific ones early on and still got 7 of the needed 12.

I was planning to cheaply get some of the more ridiculous ones, like the heavy punching one. Although Luca managed to get Trauma Queen (which I think would be difficult) last night by accident so maybe I'll just try to get them all proper. I wouldn't be against helping people with theirs when the server is low traffic however.

Looking at the list now, it actually looks like they've toned down the requirements for some of them. I'm almost certain that Blunt Trauma involved 5 punches whereas now it's only 2, and I'm pretty sure Chief of Staff used to be 10 million but is now only 1 million.

I'll probably just get a buddy to spy up on me just to get that one out of the way since i tend to use needles to spy check, not melee weapons.  I agree most are fairly easy, but some do require you to harass up some extra help.  50 medic melee kills anyone?

my view on this is valve should reset all(and block those cvars), or should have waited for more classes unlocks. but you can't stop people from farming, which in , my mind is worse because it ruins the game for the others.

Technically its valve's fault, not the end users for having those cvars, they could have easily locked them. But then again these are PC GAMES, nothing is safe secure and secret like console games.

I had 11 achievements last night and I sat in Goldrush for an hour and a half trying to get ONE MORE of the specific ones and not one pyro, heavy, demo, or scout was good enough to do it. I was so pissed..I just need one more for the first weapon..
