Game needs more good tanks, Leona is a good start.

I have yet to play her, but I've seen quite a few good ones. She has everything a good tank should have so iono why people think she is bad.

She's new. Hell, she has three types of CC. Her ult, Q, and E. She can get in using E as an initiate or flash if she doesn't have E on target.

Her W (Eclipse) gives her a reverse Randuin's. Gives her more armor and resist and allows her to deal some damage for the carries.

Her Q gives her a guarantee stun, which can be alleviated by tenacity by up to 35%, but a stun is a stun and the team could focus on a target.

Her ult is hard to use, since it isn't an instant cast, but great during the middle of a team fight where everyone is focused on damage.

She has 2 stuns, a snare that exists only as a way to not break an ability/is not reliable CC, and a slow. That being said, having 3 types of CC is not unique to a tank at all. This is standard, and her CC isn't even diverse.

W becomes useless lategame, but is OP early on. Needs tweaking.

Q's stun is not too long except early on.

Her ult is a mediocre version of Amumu/Nunu's ult.

Her passive barely tacks on any damage late game.

She has fairly low base stats for a tank.

All of her ratios and her base damage are ridiculously low, just comparing it to other tanks. Early on she is OP as fuck, but she has massive Nidalee syndrome. So much so that I'm renaming it Leona Syndrome.

I just did really well as her. The AP ratios are to force people into a straight tank role, but abyssal and rylais can still help for their passives. With the right runes and items she is a great disruptor. Also I'm pretty sure her passive stacks. Since you have 3 AoE spells you can easily put 3 stacks on their team and deal some good damage.

I think she is going to be another champ that is good when built and played right. With her though though the most luck I've had is building her specifically to counter the other team, and not with a set build. The other thing I noticed is that she is best when used to intimidate. If you play her timid people will go after you and dominate you, but if you run in spamming your skills you can bluff them into running and your team can clean them up pretty easy.

These are the excuses I heard with Yorick.

Anyways, she's UP. Compared to every other tank in the game. All of them have more damage, and thus are more of a threat.
Also her ult a 2 is weaker than Rupture at 5, just saying. And my rupture at 5 also deals appx the same damage as her ult at 3. It's just bad news bears.

Yea, when I play her I find it far too easy to get kills and most of my deaths are from flashing into their team and not getting any support.

Most of them are by accident, but she can easily flash back to the carry. That and her ult are so good for chasing and damage that you end up with quite a few kills.

Edit: Also, I went 19/2/15 as Akali. Feels good to be the AP carry.

yes, all tanks fill the same role. specifically leona has decent initiation which is overshadowed by ali, amumu, mao, and jarvan

she's the only champion that can blink through the enemy team to a carry with a relatively easy skillshot

It was the same thing with Caitlyn's Q, and sometimes Blitzcrank's grab.

No problems thus far with Leona. She gets dirty and stays dirty in a teamfight.
