So I stumbled across these rules for a pretty simple RPG that I thought sounded like a great forum game.
The gist of it is that all the players are actually the same person, John, just that each person is a different voice in his head, with a couple different skills and some objectives they want to accomplish with their life. The GM does his thing by controlling the world and everyone else in it. Players also have a stat called willpower, this is what they use to either take control of John or to improve his chance of doing anything that would require a dice roll. The full rules are here: http://wso.williams.edu/~msulliva/campaigns/john/ Anyone interested in playing? |

How could we do this on the forum? The main thing I think we would have trouble with is bidding for control simultaneously. Also how many obsessions do you have? 1 of each level?

This seems to be something actually play-able in a forum setting if you use PMs to do bids. It would be slow moving, but could be cool.
I'll be giving this a test drive over the next month or two using skype and IRCÂ 8) Â Sig by Joel |

Hmmm, I'm game. I think we're supposed to keep our skills secret though aren't we? So play looks like the GM just decides randomly what John is doing in his situation and whichever voice is in control tries to succeed in the act and if you can make an argument for having completed your obsession, you get the points?
<+Karrde> welp, time to learn some basic patterning skills <@Negate> 12121212121212121212 <@Negate> there is a simple pattern <+Karrde> I changed my mind. Gonna cosplay as a gay demon from hell and get negate raped instead XD <+Caffeine`work> Karrde: Gay demon? Why would you need to cosplay just go as yourself <+FlyingMongoose> Caffeine`work: Karrde would actually have to tone it down some. |

If we play competively, we don't tell. But since this is brbu, it probably isn't. by the end, I expect apocalypse, lots of naughty naughty bed time adventures, and America.
This is also my first rpg , so go easy on me >.> +If you can read this, you aren't checking your back+ |
