I think that was more of a radical advertising campaign letting people know that they are stepping up enforcement than literally running over people's cars. It's nice that they are serious about it.... Many eastern European nations have no issues when black Mercedes and BMW flagships are parked in the middle of the sidewalk, mostly because the people who drive them are either part of the corrupt government or are mafiosos who pay off the corrupt government.

It was more important to find a parking spot quickly so I just did a three point turn and beat it out of there. There are only a few times of the day when you can get a spot without spending 30 minutes looking and parking a 15 minute walk away and it was near the end of one of them.
