So.. My gf's brother just tried to format his PC, and he, being dumb, installed the BIOS driver again, and as you could figure, now it doesn't recognize some hardware. We're now trying to install Windows again but the Pc isn't recognizing the Hard drives. And we can't start windows because as soon as the windows log popo up, the PC reboots.

Any idea what could fix this? I already tried pressing F6 while the windows CD was booting, but without answer.. And the recovery option only asks for something on the A drive.

Thanks to Mission now i know i must use a Linux CD, but i don't have one atm. So if anyone's got another option, i'll give you a cookie.

Thanks!

flash the bios?  Use CMOS to reset?

<@Negate> 12121212121212121212
<@Negate> there is a simple pattern
<+Karrde> I changed my mind.  Gonna cosplay as a gay demon from hell and get negate raped instead XD
<+Caffeine`work> Karrde: Gay demon? Why would you need to cosplay just go as yourself
<+FlyingMongoose> Caffeine`work: Karrde would actually have to tone it down some.

Turn off computer, pull out power cord, find the round metal battery somewhere on the motherboard, pop it out for 5 minutes, pop it back in, go to BIOS to set the time/date/whatever, profit.

mayhaps we could know what motherboard it is ?
you may need to flash a new bios (update) if the current one has been corrupted somehow.
