it would be sweet irony that I get a beta key while in Afghanistan.
however, that was not the case |

Furiously refreshing my Gmail in the vain hope of finding a key.

This is good shit. My only critiques are that the beta is pretty short(only lasts until you beat the first boss) and that the game is too damn easy. In my first playthrough I was never close to dying, even during the boss fight.Â

yeah, King Leoric didn't look that tough, it did seem like he took forever to beat though.Â

Meh.
Can't say I'm too interested in a game that doesn't let me pause and will auto-boot me for being idle... while playing singleplayer. I know, I know. Diablo singleplayer?! Some of us only played Diablo that way, and liked it. |

And I know it's not tits. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/09/...ffect-you/ [tt]So when Iâm playing the single-player game, and Iâm in the middle of a frenzied mob, and thereâs a knock at the front door, thereâs nothing I can do. As happened to me yesterday. Twice. On another occasion I was surprised by a phone call that led to my having to do some other things. Iâd safely left my character in a cleared area, but long between checkpoints. When I came back to the PC, Iâd been idle for too long and the game had logged me out. Iâd been logged out of a single-player game because I was away for an hour. And thus lost all my progress (although not my items and stats) since the last checkpoint, a long, long way back. In fact, currently, losing your connection (either by idling or the server going down) resets huge chunks of what youâve already played, such that the map is blank, and you need to battle through it again. [/tt] sounds annoying to me that every time there is a steam-message / phone buzzes / knock at the door / pizza delivery / piss time / something interesting to look at on TV / dog/cat does something silly behind your chair that you have to hunt for a safe/cleared zone, walk there, and then not be gone for less than an hour. |

[/quote] I'll admit that that can be annoying, but the checkpoints are never more than 10 minutes of gameplay apart. So yes it sucks, but if you have to go then just log out and log back in when you're done. |

I'll still give it a shot.
though, blizzard's shift to always connected shit drives me mad- I bought SC2 about a month before deploying "oh it has a guest pass so you can still play offline" Yeah fucking right, I have played SC2 Zero times since deploying. |
