[/quote] Don't be a fucking moron and show the firearm the respect it's due and it's quite fine. All those Glock horror stories of someone shooting someone else while cleaning it, or the fabled "Glock leg" syndrome? That's operator error. Everyone already knows Glocks have no standard safety lock and rely on the ITS, and that they can be fired with such a light trigger pull. That's the operator not showing a weapon it's due respect and being cavalier in it's handling if it's fired prematurely. I couldn't care less about any counter-argument concerning even police officers and all the premature shootings that happened with them either, because again that was operator error, someone was not familiar enough with their sidearm to use it, if they were familiar enough with the weapon, they would not have pre-squeezed the trigger so early or been so eager to tighten up on the trigger, they trained with it, they know it will fire quickly. It's a weapon that is made to shoot and shoot quickly, and it does exactly what it's designed to do, very well in fact. The point I was making was the complete lack of any safety mechanism at all on a revolver, and the fact you can't keep it loaded without having a round chambered, like you can with a semi. |

That would mean there'a a live round sitting directly beneath the firing pin (also known as not safe) just waiting to be dropped onto a hard surface the wrong way. |

I must establish that I have no gun experience.
But when I pulled the trigger on my dad's colt revolver it seemed like it'd be almost impossible to fire it by accident and the hammer seemed like it wouldn't be pulled back by accident either. Then again, this revolver is really high-end and absurdly expensive. |

You leave the chamber under the pin empty, because you have to pull back the hammer THEN pull the trigger to fire the thing. As opposed to just firing it. And you argue that a semi with no safety is safer. Christ. "If you want to be a Double E, bend over and grab your knees...." "Atom is Sexy!" <-- Donate your own pic to the cause! A Glock has 3 independent safeties. There's a firing pin block, a drop safety, and a trigger lever. The only way the Glock will fire is if you pull the trigger. People who have negligent discharges with Glocks, just like any other gun, weren't following the 4 basic safety rules.

A little food for thought
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/988015_...tml&page=1 some of the pictures in this thread may be of some interest to our more medically minded friends. (namely the the tunnel a 230gr .45 round dug through the bad guy's hand) 11:35 Socks Greatbacon_work: Just accept the idea of enemas.
