Historically the threat of it has compelled congress to act, if they want to say, enshrine campaign financing reform and the removal of corporate person-hood, getting anywhere near the 34 state threshold will force congress to act.

I'm in business orgs now and I think the problem is becoming fairly obvious. We had a race to the bottom that Delaware won that made corporate laws super pro-management. There were good reasons and logic behind this decision initially. But the problem now is that management can make out like a bandit without being good at what they do. Then they make up new ways of doing even better, some legal and some not. Then they lobby politicians to let them push the envelope further and further.

The problem isn't really corporations, it's bad management of corporations.

Discuss the interactive effects of the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act on the Glass–Steagall Act, how the free market responded, and how that relates to the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission case.

Can someone help me understand the movement better? To me this sounds like people complaining because other people are richer than them but I feel like it sounds that way because I'm missing something. Politicians corrupt = definitely yes, but what beef specifically do they have against the 1%?

I wanna say it has to do something with the large corporations and the government basically being in bed with each other, though I'm not sure why it wouldn't just be a "bring back free market" campaign and push to do away with the government bailing out corporations that should have simply died off due to horrible business management as they bloody well should.

Then again, I'm very poorly educated about any of these matters.
