So for some reason, I seem to have early onset senioritis and find myself unable to get around to getting work done. While a lot of my courses are easy little to no effort (film production, Japanese II, Ceramics), this is problematic for some courses of mine. (Ad Chem, Calc-Based Mechanics, BC Calc II) Study groups never feel right, and I just can't seem to get myself to work on the courses even though I love the subject matter.

Any tips that people know/have used to get working on things like this?

uh, I sorta just let my senioritis flow, unless you fail courses it really does not matter. despite what teachers tell you, it really does not matter. (I infuriated my ap bio teacher by not working)

I'm sure it's different for each person, but here are some tips I follow to stay productive:

Work in an environment away from distraction. My freshman year I never understood why all the asian kids went to the library to study, but then I realized I kept getting distracted from that history essay by Reddit or TF2.

Avoid gaming until your work is all done. I find that once I start up a game, the constant stimulus and fast action ruins my attention span for the day. Start working, keep working, take breaks if you need but do something "slow" or relaxing.

Make To-Do lists. Having a checklist of things to knock off provides an achievement incentive, and breaks things down into smaller tasks that are easier to tackle.

EDIT: Want to emphasize something: do not overslack in your AP courses. I really regret not taking more AP courses as a high schooler. They're fantastic and make getting introductory courses & core requirements out of the way at university. If you can't keep up in class, get yourself some AP study guides and cram like mad for the exams.

Todo lists have helped me out nicely, just so much to keep track of that it is often overwhelming and as I take things off, new things come in just as quickly so I don't get that "rush" of getting stuff done as I used to.

As for APs technically we don't have courses for them here, although we do have some that go as far or further such as BC Calc, Calc-Based Mechanics and Calc-Based E&M.

Eightball, your advice did help a lot this weekend, while to-do lists still don't work for me, I have been avoiding more stimulating things during breaks (opting instead for things like small walk and other more, mind cleary things). Been able to keep from getting sidetracked.

Yep, that works for me. Best way to get shit done is to remove yourself from distractions and fucking do it.

Write it down. Whatever you're thinking of. Take notes in longhand on paper. The process of writing it out will make it stick in your mind.

I have a similar problem.  I deal with the problem by saying "fuck it"  and get it done and over with as quickly as possible so i can procrastinate about other things.

I've actually taken up the whole thing of just setting aside a few hours every day for real study. I guard this time slot with my life and I just cut out all outside contact short of calling on my phone (Since I'm only called if it is something serious) This way the rest of my time can be clubs and fun.
