Gin has a cilantro taste to me, at least the Beefeater gin does. I like it a lot as it's kind of light and refreshing (and bizarre at first).

I associate scotch with alcoholics more. My friend told me that gin tastes like trees (real trees, not pot) before I had it. I agreed and always think of pine trees when I drink it. (makes sense because it's distilled from juniper berries.) also, gin is not a drink that you want to go cheap on, at all. middle cost gin is good and satisfying though. I had banker's club gin once and it tasted like vodka. awful awful awful.
