How much of a hit did Anime take in the states in the past few years or is just with some of the bigger chains? I was at Best Buy today and they have like 7 anime dvds.  Like 4 shelves with 2 movies each flat against them.  I remember when they had an entire section of shelving to anime.  I know some places like FYE still have abit of an anime collection, but even theirs has really shrunk down.

I know I can just buy or watch stuff online, but I guess I'm old fashioned where I like to go to a store and just peruse movies.  Maybe it's cause I use to hang out at a video store when I was younger, chatting with a few of the guys there who became great friends to me, talking about the new movies, old movies, it was some good times. Sad that I remember helping to close down that video store some years later also :\

Just watched most of Redline (Damn free viewers having limited use!) and it's pretty crazy fun.  The animation is fantastic.

One of those lame viewers where they give you about an hours worth of free watching before they make you wait or pay for longer.  It was the only place I could find the english dub of it online lol

or you could've eaten the $10 as a lesson in walking the whole floor before buying anything and just bought the third at the other booth :|

why am i not surprised a midwest con didn't have touhou things

when i went to a west coast con (fanime), there were a reasonable amount of booths w/ touhou figs

midwest worst coast (if it was a coast)

[/quote]I walked by the booth that was selling these figures for cheaper multiple times, and didn't even see them there. The dealers at Ohayocon are fucking atrocious. The figures were a lot more reasonably priced this year, but anything else was stupid expensive. The video game dealer was selling Beyond Good and Evil for the PS2 for $40. The game isn't even that hard to find, not to mention you can buy it on PS3/Xbox for $10 without even leaving your house, and it's in HD. Let's not even talk about the 5 year old $70 DS games that you can buy on ebay for $30.

VERSUS MIDWEST COAST IS REAL. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. On the bright side I saw tons of bronies but no actual brony merchandise or MLP merchandise, nor any MLP screenings.

Okay so sure this thing is months old but I just found it so it's new to me.

Some people did a dub over the Fantasy Kaleidoscope - The Spring Snow Incident video by Manpuku Shrine that was released at Comiket 80. It was very well animated, but kinda awkward to watch since they didn't do any voice acting and just had subs over soundless diolauge. Now complete with voice acting, it's pretty great.
